@caitlincassandraАй бұрын
@@human-ln1ymit’s not an excuse, but it’s a hugely relevant factor in whether the crime was cold blooded, psychopathic type behaviour or was a response to trauma. How can you not comprehend that an abused person murdering their abuser is not the same as a random murder for no reason except the murderer wanted to kill? There are a number of factors relevant when sentencing someone for a crime. Public safety: if these boys killed their parents because of severe abuse by their parents, they are not a threat to the public. Deterrence: yes, to a small degree it can be assumed that prison time will deter others from murdering their abusers, but it won’t deter everyone, just as it didn’t in the present case if the abuse allegations are true. Punishment: they do not deserve the same punishment as what they did is, by the law of nature/morality, not the same as other murders where there was no abuse that led to the murder.
@human-ln1ymАй бұрын
@caitlincassandra well they planned a whole murder... just bc they were mentally hurt from possibly being abused is a factor, yes, but I still disagree that they should be freed... they still took two lives.... and no one knows if the abuse really is true.... and you guys are kinda just seeing one side of the story based on a picture... and what was said... in my opinion, I don't think they deserve to be free... but it's just my opinion and I can't change your mind and I don't want to.

It’s been quite a while, but if I recall correctly they were afraid of not being believed, having the abuse public (it can be just as devastating having to relive it and feeling like everyone everywhere knows what happened to you, especially for men and at the hands of a family member at that), and the father had threatened countless times before and that day to kill them if they told. They were very traumatized children who grew into traumatized young men with a rich and influential father and a mother who didn’t give a crap.
