Jasmine Mackenzie a jazzy post-apocalyptic retelling of the greek myths of Orpheus & Eurydice, and Persephone & Hades. i think it’s an amazing musical, but it’s pretty different from other musicals so people either really love it or really hate it (100% recommend a listen tho)

A lot of comments are refering to "Oh, you should have mentioned Great Comet" or "Waitress". This video is only who won best musical, not the other amazing shows that flew under the radar. The Great Comet was over shadowed by Dear Evan Hansen and Hamilton essentially overshadowed School of Rock and Waitress. That's okay. Many hugely popular/sucessful shows don't actually win best musical: Wicked, Newsies, Matilda, Miss Saigon, Into the Woods, West Side Story, Chicago, Come From Away, Dreamgirls, Something Rotten, Jesus Christ Super Star, Hair, Oliver, etc.

okay so since some of y’all don’t seem to get it this is a video for best musical tony winners and not fan favorites. Beetlejuice didn’t win any Tony’s, six wasn’t able to win anything because of corona, and mean girls also didn’t win best musical. maybe they’ll come out with a video with popular musicals of the decade, but for now it’s just the shows that won best musical.

A Utahn here. I believe the LDS church official stance was that they were grateful that the musical was informing people of their faith. PS- don't look up "Book of Mormon Musical" in Salt Lake County Public Library System. It will only lead to frustration.
