I love Tainted Grail. As Tom said, the story was incredible. But I actually really liked the combat too, both the normal combat and the diplomacy. I loved trying to get new cards and thin my decks as optimally as possible so I could hope to chain more and more cards together. And then if you upgraded certain stats like Aggression or Practicality enough specific cards could become instant win cards. When those popped up....man that was fun.

I was super excited to try the Fox Experiment after hearing Tom and Mike rave about it on the Dice Tower. When I finally did, woof.. what a let down. The game felt far too random, and after awhile of playing, I found myself just not caring about what was happening. I'm not sure what it was, but the game fell pretty flat for us. A couple people in my group "liked it" but I didn't get the impression that they "loved it". I think we played it 2 or 3 times, and then have basically forgotten about it. If you put this and Wingspan on the table, I'd play Wingspan in a heartbeat.

Tainted Grail along with Gloomhaven is the best board game experience I've been a part of. Both Fall of Avalon and Age of Legends are incredible (The Last Knight was good but the exposure mechanic was awful). Starting Kings Of Ruin this week, can't wait!

Funny about Pandemic the cure, i'm the exact opposite id rather play this than the base pandemic. (I like fall of rome the most though)

@@1979kubalaI think I give Marvel United a slight edge here, especially because of how quick it is to get going and play a varied experience... But United and Champions are probably my top 2 games of all-time

@@1979kubala Marvel United and Marvel Champions are two very different games. I wouldn't even compare them except for theme. Marvel Champions has a lot of intricate card play and tough decisions. Marvel United is lighter and easy to get to the table and play against a villain of your choice. There is definitely room in someone's collection for both.
