Great video! My favorite part was the $10 bill story, especially after Elvis died and Vernon got the other piece to carry with him. I'd never heard that before. I hope someone can get a close up photo of the karate article Elvis carried in his wallet. Interesting stuff. Fun to see what they carried in there wallets.

My favorite in Elvis Wallets is the pictures of Lisa 2 years old and the crinkled newspaper article.Vernon`wallets was the pictures f little Lisa and her mom holding her while Lisa holds her face and the worn nickel from the year 1935 and the pictures of Mark Sandy`s son. This tell a lot about Vernon.and Elvis.

I love this thing with the pictures and 10. Love the family. So cute. His dad loved him. The family was tight. He was so sad when Gladys and Elvis died. I think he didn't know it would happen so soon.

That was so touching! Very emotional. I never knew about the 10 dollar bill. It was also very telling that Vernon always carried that picture of Elvis when he was 2 years old (I think), right until the time he (Vernon) died. And of course the pictures of little Lisa! We all think of what a life Elvis had, and it was like no other, but think of everything Vernon lived through in his lifetime, and then the tragedy of outliving his son. I think also of how awful it was for Minnie Mae as well. All that from seeing their wallets. Thank you for this video, a reminder that we all care about the same things.

Seeing all these old items reminds me of when i was a kid by the way we wrote TN on an envelope. Back then we wrote Tenn instead TN like we do now. Addresses were different too then, there would be a route number then a box number. Lord, im getting old!

What a cool video Ashley! I so remember wallets from that time period. All, meaning men's and women's wallets had space to hold photo's. Now we carry photo's in our cell phones. So different from then! Back in the 70's we all carried pieces of small papers that meant something to us. Now my wallet only has my credit cards, bank card, gift cards in it. Wallets have changed a lot since the 70's. My favorite part was that Elvis and his dad carrying a ripped piece of a 10 dollar bill in each of their wallets and the karate piece from Elvis and the Nickle from Elvis' birth year. I knew Elvis was very close to his mother, and close to his dad, but never realized it was that close to carry a corner of a 10 dollar bill each around. Very cool, very touching. You always get the scoop Ashley and I love it! I still amazing at how much you keep finding out about Elvis. Just when I think we know everything about him, you bring us things we didn't know!

What a great look into Elvis and Vernon's world of keepsakes... I love this. You are so right it gives us a glimpse of what was important to both of them. The corner of the $10 was really cool... not sure why it is so surprising to me. The fact Vernon had to take the other corner and carry it on is heartbreaking, but what a gesture also. The most crazy thing I saw of ELVIS was a glass case full of pill bottles for ELVIS, this was right after he passed and the drugs were talked about. Sad!!!!!
