To me, it feels different than watching, for example, a dragon and its rider crash into an obstacle. Horses and horse racing are real, and the horses in this game have fairly realistic animations. When I see a horse fall in this game, it reminds me of how easily a rider can be paralyzed or crushed to death under the weight of a horse in real life. That's not a fate I expected to be reminded of by this cute horse game, haha.

This is a bit of a deep slice of a recommendation and would take a bit of totally-not-pirating... but I have fond, nostalgic memories of playing the 1998 Barbie Riding Club horse game when I was little, and I wasn't even much of a horse kid.

I unfortunately have bad experiences with horses. My uncle raised horses and they really took after his personality... He was a very angry ex-cop, for context. Kind of spoiled the mystique.

I've played Magical Diaries, and I love it (I have stayed away from the professor path). Its genuinely a really fun game, with some really cool mechanics for a dating sim.

So apparently some 'AAA gaming company' scooped up Them's Fightin' Herds from it's creators, horrendously re-balanced it and then abandoned it altogether. So yeah, if you do end up playing it single player it's just one character story...the rest is multiplayer and DLC.
