Personally I think this is super valuable. Having a ship tractor beam tied to something so compact and easy to control is gonna be super useful. Not to mention it sets the stage for mining, combat, and salvage variants which will all be super useful as well

Well, what I would do is be a stevedore at a big station- have my own mech there.... when a client comes in for a landing, party up, pull up my mech, unload/load their ship(fora fee per box)... OR party up with a Orgmate.... its not worth $160 for me, but depending on the aUEC cost, I'd buy that

gotta say, im really hoping that the tractor mechanic from teh suit, with the auto-pull and auto-place, makes its way to the ships, becuase it would make loading things like the Cutlass a breeze

i wonder if the thinking is that with the caterpillar the on board trakbeam would be able to use the placement slots as sort of a dashboard interface for loading, ie, you manually select the box you want to pick up from the seat and then programme it to store in bay1 slot 1 bay1 slot 2 so on.

Oh that would be a great idea, it was a fun session the other night, I’ve saved the video as many ways to die, a video on how my rescuers ended up killing me off, I’d probably been safer with a few pirates coming along 😂

If you had a rifle tractor beam, you may be able (if glitch is fixed) to load the mech into a Caterpillar, except I don't believe the mech can move to another bay? ;-) I'm planning to get one and park it aboard my C2, between the elevator and ladder (my PTV will need to move). It's my understanding the Caterpillar's lifts will be able to drop to the ground for easier loading so then moving the mech into the bays will also be easier, but I'm not sure it can walk under the Caterpillar's walkway? The biggest problem (ok, the slow speed is) with it is "interference" with the ship and/or other containers being misaligned on the grid. I agree, $160.0 is outrageous, maybe $30.0 or $40.0 max (it was hinted at $25.0)?

Yeah, that's not worth 160. CIG's marketing team would be insulting us if they priced that so high. I'm a Space Marshal and have spent my share in this game and that is NOT something I'm willing to spend on.

This is a hard pass for me. After just having nerfed hand tractor, NOT fixing the mule, any ship tractors. the whole its broken thing, such as that it is not damageable CIG put this out to distract from the poor quality of patches this year. Delayed features and now there is going to be multiple 3.24.x patches. This "shiny trinket" is a disappointment. A shallow attempt at distraction. and most of the community seems hell bent on swallowing it.

I was a little surprised myself. But I can kind of see the bigger picture they're going with here. They want the hand tools to be more for indoor and the Exploratory, movement of stuff in the world, Charge and energy drain.. The new scrapping system coming with pyro.. And they want to push the community more towards using this. Sure. It's a little bit of an underhand move. But I have a feeling this is gonna be less than a mill. In game which is pocket change.

Not really, I released a video before it, the same video, but I didn’t add in the image I saw and info saying it was a hoax post I saw. So I edited the video to show it and added that thumbnail saying updated version and not £160 to clarify that. If you watched the video I do exactly that, as I approach the mech I say it’s £160 it then show the post I saw that said it was with a bit of text explaining it was a false post. And the thumbnail says not £160

Its functionality should just be an extra mode for the existing tractor beams or at very least an ATLS should be free to spawn at every hangar, distribution centre and cargo outpost. It is a quality of life upgrade for the fiddly cargo grid mechanics and nothing more. I know the old "you don't have to buy it" or "no ship sales, no game" arguments always come into play when a new vehicle drops but this just feels like CIG charging for the solution to a problem they created! Great video as always though pal.

They should be ashamed if they will really sell this " solution" for problems they made ( Slow and clunky multitool and ship tractor beams) for so much money. They should make it bought just in game and then sell skins or different configurations for mech. So you can make, camo, pink gundam for example.

@@NoobsGamingSC The problem with most backers are they are so starved of a stable, usable fun patch, they gravitate to all the childish ''Alien Queen'' nonsense, the box loader is just that, with some tweaks it will be a decent utility. Problem is, most backers are dense, they listen to that capNhand plonker Bored, follow every piece of distraction CIG release as gospel..it aint. You do good content, don't become a Clickbait/Pimping wanker like many of the CC'ers
