don't worry, when 看means read, the usage is very simple. it doesn't involve 见 in this case. and if you want to know the difference between 看书and 读书，here it is. 看书 is a modern way to say read, it emphasizes looking at the book, and读书is a traditional way to say read, it emphasizes getting the knowledge from the book

When my son was little, his grandpa would often say "看不见" when playing with him; just like English speakers would say "peek-a-boo". I notice in this video you say "没看见了" when you don't see something. 没 vs. 不 is always very confusing for me, but can you explain why you would use one or the other in this context? (Or is it just dialect? My father-in-law is from Wuhan.)

看见 ,in grammatical term, 见 is a "complement of result",is to talk about a fact and a result, so normally it 's used for something in the past. 你看见了吗？ 看见了/没看见。 did you see it? yes/no. on the other hand, 看得见，in grammatical term, 得见is a "potential complement", it's talking about"whether it's possible or not to achieve a certain result", and it's normally used in current context, for example, a small piece of thorn entered your finger and your mom is helping you to pick it out, but it's so small, and hard to see it , so you ask, 看得见吗？ is it possible to see it ? hope it helped, ask me if you still have doubt.🥰

very good question my friend, let's see. 看 and 读 both can mean read. 我喜欢看书/ 读书。 but 读 has another two meaning, one is "reading aloud" ,for example ,in the class, the teacher say , " Mike, 你来读一下这个句子”， so Mike needs to stand up and read it out in front of the class. another meaning of 读 is like "pronounce", for example, "这个字怎么读”， how do you pronounce this character? hope it helped you, don't hesitate to ask if you have further doubt. 🥰🥰🥰 have a nice day

多谢! I'm 'machine learning' chinese with sentence flashcards so actually I have a mountain of questions if you have the time (or patience) to point me to the right content. I'm convinced that after a while I'll internalise grammar but some of it looks really mysterious at the moment. Btw, have a nice day to you too! -In “我会想你的” what is the purpose of 的 being at the end? -In 现在几点了 what is the purpose of 了？ -The difference between 哪儿 and 哪里 as in 你去在哪儿？or 你住在哪里？ - In sentences 我有很多钱, 这里好多人啊！"a lot" is being deployed in different ways. Why? - Is 你在干什么 interchangable with 你在做什么? Also initiaslly I thought 在 made verbs present continuous but upon reviewing more examples it doesn't seem to be the case (if the traslations are to be believed). I've seen sentences like 我蹲这沙发后面 and 你去哪儿 where verbs are tranlated as present continuous. In other words, the use/lack of 在 around verbs is really puzzling -What is the purpose of 来 in 我想坐下来? (if I don't put it in will I just keep falling through the chair? :) -I am a little confused about the usage of 都, like as in 我每天都要工作 and 他整个上午都在看书? in first example it feels excessive and the second case's translation doesn't specify the entirety of the morning (which is my initial impressions of 都‘s usage).

good question ! when it is about a concrete object, 看见和看到is the same. eg. 我看见了一颗流星 is the same as 我看到了一颗流星。 but if it is a abstract concept ,it is more common to use看到，eg, 不是每个人都能看到这件事的重要性。not everyone can see the importance of this.

it should be 我想和您见面。because 见面 is a 'v+n' structure. you can't use it like a transitive verb. so can't be followed by 您 or any other noun or pronoun.
