I am so glad I found your channel-- I did not hesitate to subscribe lol. I am entering into my second year pursuing my associates in medical billing and coding & I'm starting to get nervous because time is flying by and I'll be out in the real world soon looking for a career. It's great to see a brown girl doing what I hope to do in the future. Thank you for making these videos!

For some reason I can't find your other comment asking about billing the last case together 51597 and 58240. I checked for NCCI edits for both of these codes and found: This code pair represents procedures considered to be Mutually Exclusive. However, both services can be reimbursed if the appropriate modifier is appended. Meaning you can bill them together with the appropriate modifier but depending on the payor they may deny it. In order to bill them together it would depend on what the provider did. 51597 doesn't mention removal of the cervix or tubes/ovaries. So, if he did remove these and the patient had urethral malignancy then we'd bill it as 51597, 58240-XU [XU- Unusual non-overlapping service] 51597 first because of higher RVUs.

Is this gynecology exam for the specialty in this field? I will be taking the CPC exam in August .Also I was wondering if you could do a bubbling video and what you have marked in your manual. Also do you have to buy your own manuals each year and do you bubble each new book as well . I know lot of questions but I also think they can be great videos girl you have the ☕️ for this field and your professional as well I love how you teach .
@ShamyraC3 жыл бұрын
Which question are you referring to? The patient seen in the gynecologist office for stress incont. or the last case? Both of these are gynecological procedures for OBGYN specialty but you will see procedures like this on the CPC because they ask you questions on every section/series of your CPT book (Anesthesia, Integumentary, Musculoskeletal, etc) I can definitely do an in depth video of what I have bubbled. The only sections I have bubbled will be related to OB/GYN only though. I don't bubble the other sections because I don't use them on a daily basis. I do not have to buy my manuals every year. My employer purchases them and mails them to my house. I do have to write/bubble all my notes in my new books every year. This usually takes about 2 days to complete lol. Thank you! I'm happy to share what I know. :)

@@ShamyraC the exam you mentioned?
@ShamyraC3 жыл бұрын
@@iam_carlapretty1202 oh!!!! I'm thinking you're talking about a physical exam that would be performed in the gynecology office lol. Yes. There is a specialty certification exam for obstetrics & gynecology through the AAPC. You looked under specialty certifications on their website to find it.

Hi. Thank you for your informal discussion on practice CPC question. However, I’m not sure if a modifier need to be added since it both nipple are been corrected. Please advise. Thank you so much.
@ShamyraC3 жыл бұрын
That is correct. Are you referring to 19355 cpt no modifier was used. Not sure if I said to use one in the video. 😕 If I did, no you don’t need one. ☺️

Do you mean an in depth video of what I have bubbled? I did a video showing you guys what I have written/highlighted in my manuals. The only book I use the bubbling method is my CPT book.

Yes, it is very easy to choose the wrong answer on the exams. I’ll watch the end of the video to see what the question is like and see if I find more similar. Thanks for supporting! 🤗

Is the CPC exam just a bunch of case study questions like this? I read somewhere it was multiple choice as well. Is this accurate?
@ShamyraC3 жыл бұрын
Yes and no. You’ll have a mix of case studies plus anatomy, medical terminology, coding guidelines, compliance and regulations.. Yes, it is multiple choice. ☺️

23470 is only for the reconstruction and replacement of the implant for the shoulder joint. This code didn’t include the excision.
