My only hesitation on fully pentamelding my Crafter set is I've heard horror stories in the past where the suggested melds in X.0 ended up being incorrect by the time the Master Recipies dropped in X.05 and needed to be redone

There is always this possibility, and it's something I realized after I finished this video that I should have touched on, so I hope you don't mind me pinning your comment! If you do worry about this it's completely fair to do so. I would just recommend stocking up on a bunch of materia and waiting to see what happens when the patch releases, and meld then. Prices of materia will most likely spike in 7.05, so make sure to have a bunch ready to go so you don't have to buy them if this is your plan!

My current cheap melds are basically all CP and I'm doing all my pre-craft prep as HQ so that when 7.05 hits I can do the early rush with HQ mats (and food/pot as needed) with the CP melds, then from there will fully pentameld once the updated melds are released later in the week.

​@TenelenTheScrub question in the same vain. Looking at high end melds for craters and everything is pentamelded except tools; they only have 1 cp +8 materia each. If this is correct... why?

Little correction I like to point out. Scrip gear isn't entirely useless. Its better than crafted until you meld the crafted set. Also the scrip set can be used to make the new battle gear cause they wouldn't give us scrip gear just for it to be useless. And I recommend taking meld advice from other players or KZbinrs cause websites aren't 100% reliable (since last expansion team craft screwed up ppls melds)

Fair comment all around! The scrip gear is fine for sure, but job specific is a pain in the butt and a lot more work to get for 7.0. Later down the line it's great. To be honest, I am working on getting more knowledgeable with my melding and stating so I can work on making my own melds, but right now I'm not confident enough to give that advice. Edit: Oh wow! As some others have already said, the scrip gear is better until you're melded. However, something to also keep in mind too is if you have gathering retainers! I ended up being able to use the scrip gear for a while on them especially if you are just doing field explorations/quick ventures. For the mining/botany ones, ymmv, but I found it a nice to have and was able to cheaply upgrade their stuff later as needed. :)

I basically got the main hand do for each job from scripts. Melded with materia x and ix and have the crafted offhand unmelded. I've been spamming high quality crafting materials and I've been making the best crafting food I can. As well as making orange script items. Harvesting materia off my gear trying to get as many as I can for the next crafting set

hello tenelen again how are u i came to ask a question about today high end gathere materials ipe log etc... since now they are low on demand that bcs some time have passed will be there future uses for them in later updates like new recipes or next tier savage gear or something? since now i have some leftovers (acutally quite alot) im not sure if just sell them now or wait

Most likely they will not have any uses. There will be new items added to the same nodes in future patches. The prices are pretty low last I checked, so I'm hoarding them myself for that very small chance they get another use, but you probably want to try to sell them if you can

We don't know for certain, but I'm assuming 1600 Purple Scrips, so I've got 12800 ready to go! I'll have a video for 7.05 Prep coming out next week!

Would I be able to craft the 7.1 left side tools with an indagator pentamelded step? Might just skip the Thunderyards apart from accessories then.

My best guess: It probably won't be doable with full Indagator's, *maybe* if you have full pentameld 7.0 Accessories, but even then it's probably pushing it. You've got time before 7.1, making the left side gear and just putting 2 guaranteed melds in each of them would be my recommendation. You can skip melding the tools, other than maybe throwing some CP melds into them for convenience. Then wait for 7.1 to see what the stat requirements will be!

I've got a short and quick on on Aetherial Reduction that I would recommend for Crystals & Clusters! I've also got a Dawntrail Aethersand video that will post on Monday that has a side effect of getting some as well. kzbin.info/www/bejne/mYupm32qoJeMac0 The best way to get them in my opinion though is definitely from the Ephemeral Nodes and Aetherial Reduction, but for Shards it's probably just retainers. You can also get a bunch of Crystals from your gathering retainers as well, that's how I get a bunch in my downtime!

HMMM, so if im just farming with gatherer's using spiritbonding method and have 690 bis right now, there's no real need for me to get the 720 stuff and pentameld it again? since im just farming spiritbond from EW and early DT nodes?

Unless you're looking to gather the new Folklore node legendary materials as they come out, there's no real reason to upgrade later

When my crafters are all mega low while my gatherers are maxed aside fisher which i just got to 90.

But practically what is the difference between the BiS pentameld crafters gear vs the Mid Tier set? with the Mid tier set can you craft everything, or some recipes you just can't do with that gearset? is the difference only ease of use, like making some 1 button macro and not having to HQ base materials? Because i dont know how much i will craft since i dont care about making money (i just want to craft everything that i use myself, like the gear for Savage), and the BiS pentameld seems a huge investment of time if i have to change it in 4 months, expecially the left side pieces.

Yeah a lot of the difference is: 1 button macro, or less HQ prereq materials. It's mainly a time save for those who are looking to craft a lot, so if you're just looking to be able to do things yourself the lower stat versions are doable! If you aren't worried about speed and sales, I would recommend just stocking up on materia and waiting until 7.05 to see the baseline stats you need to be able to craft things, once we know the actual requirements.

if you have culinarian and your gatherers at cap you can make the lvl 100 collectable super easy and get materia yourself!

I just did today mostly with materia I grinded in a couple of days, just don't go for the super expensive melds as long as you meet the breakpoints and meld extra control and CP you are good.
