Yes, you do. If you purchase it off of the Erzgebirge Palace, you have to get the converter. I have bought one on Amazon that came with it and it was made in Germany.

lol, I was going to attempt to make one but now that I know Amazon has it, that idea fell flat. Easier to purchase.
