My favorite was knit crate. I ordered the knit and crochet box from hooks and needles. I feel i paid over 50.00 for stitch markers....which was the nicer thing in the box. The yarn was chunky 100% wool....like a brillo pad!!! I am a sweater and sock maker. I also do art toys....as gifts for adults. All I can say about the disappointed feelings when I got it, is lesson learned. I can't afford to pay for dollar store merchandise.

Thanks for this review. I had gotten only the knitting kit. This was my first time seeing a crochet kit from this club. I agree with you. I had ended other kit clubs for the same reasons.

Thank you very much for your honest review. Tools are disappointing even for a beginner. Yarn is nice but it’s not enough for anything but a hat. I think the most appealing part is a box.

I've been crocheting for over a decade and I liked it. It's not amazing but i think it's a good starter kit for people just learning crochet. I ended up making a different style of beanie and in the end I love it. I bought extra yarn too so I have a bit more to play with. I completely understand why people don't like it though. It's valid.

I just got my second box. I didn’t like any of the projects and I too thought I would get different needles and hooks. Also I don’t see anywhere where they have video tutorials for any of the projects. Which would be helpful for a beginner. I’m going to cancel and try the Afghan kit from Annie’s

I've only subscribed to Darn Good Yarn's monthly box (bag). yea this is how I feel about the first box I got from them. I got only the knitting set. I'm giving them one more chance with the second box to see what tools they provide. the reviews on their site show the tiny scissors but I haven't seen that in the first box. personally I ended up liking the speckled finch yarn Bliss Box way more. i got the variegated sock yarn single skein subscription but they only offer spots certain times of the year. no tools, just some notions from other small shops included, but the variegation is fun to see. I make socks with that set

Yes!!! Love the Yarn Bliss Box and imo it was miles above the hooks and needles.

Thanks for the review. I got Knitcrate for a couple of months. I like from them the quality and amount of yarn. I had to cancel it because I couldn't afford it anymore but they sadly went out of business.

I got the kit in April and may with the "extra" yarn. Very much not worth it. Customer service didn't respond to my email, and they never picked up their phone. The color work patterns in April had mistakes, and the yarn in may was very stiff and had tons of veg matter in it. With an elongated slipped stitch pattern for a tablet cover. ... 😂 I canceled in June. Maybe someday they will improve

I cannot get that wooden box open and there yours was already open.

Maybe the wood is swollen from moisture? I had one that wasn’t tight at all and the other one I had to turn to take it off. Maybe you could put it somewhere dry to see if it helps.
