This is the first commenter I've heard that made the connection about Atreus' dickish period, that he was mirroring his father's characteristics. As an audience, we're ok with Kratos being that way, in part because we know his history, but mostly because "that's Kratos - that's just how he is." Then when we see it on a different person, especially one who's previously been very compassionate and empathetic, we see how ugly it really is.

what they said about paralysis of choice is so true, in high school with all the time in the world i loved giant games like oblivion and final fantasy xi and assassin's creeds but nowadays games that advertise massive open worlds with a billion things to see and do turn me away because it's just disheartening knowing there's no way that my life can fit all these games in so i turn it off and don't even bother. It's been years since I could "finish" a game full completionist style the way I did every game i owned when i was young and I platinumed GoW and still went back for ng+. This and bloodborne are my top games in a long long time.

It’s staggering how the executives of the gaming world have so much say in the creative decision of games. If executives gave game designers more freedom, maybe we would have more legendary games like God of War. 10:15 is a perfect example of this, Baldur should not have came near at the end of the E3 trailer, no boss fight was needed, so glad Cory stuck to his vision!

I tried to stick it out but couldnt get into it. Then a few months later I tried again but again same issue. Then I tried one more time and then I finally got into it. I played it 4 days straight and fully immersed myself in the world and absolutely fell in love with it. I finally understand why so many loved it. Now I can’t even imagine going back to the old series. I would buy a ps5 just to only buy the sequel.

I hope for the second, after seeing some of what is rumored to be concepts for the sequel. If indeed Atreus is more adult and fierce, They NEED to make a layered mechanic, where you can swap between Kratos, and Atreus to battle.... The best way I can paint the image would be just as if you were canceling a combo, the Camera would swiftly swoop out and like a magnet lock behind the other character. While this is happening the world goes into a slow motion exactly like DOOM did with the weapon wheel... I think it would serve so well and would add SOOOO much variety to the gameplay you would never play out the same situation twice... it wouldn't be forced, and if some things were meant to be seen by one characters perspective, they could lock in, OR better yet, let the player get the perspective of who they chose to play as for said scenario...feel free to steal the idea lol...

great top you got here ( plus the runners up ) . However , the ranking of the games itself would not be the same for me , more like 1.Tw3 2.Rdr2. 3.God of war 4.Bloodborne 5. Uncharted 4 and then zelda, mgsv , hzd , persona 5, ds3,super mario etc...) My opinion though , but i can see you're more of "a gameplay guy " so it depends what you're looking for in a game . Glad you put mgsv and rdr2 , a lot of people are shitting on these games and im like , find me a game with a better open world than rdr2 and a better gameplay in open world than mgsv lol

@@dylana.9057 Yeah, tbh I wasn't really sure about placing MGSV in there, mostly because it isn't a 100% Kojima game. It is great, but we can only imagine what could've been had Konami not interfered with the project. And yeah, RDR2 is a great game, sure, it has its shortcomings, but to call it trash like some are doing is just stupid.

Yeah well, that's just, like, your opinion, man Mine is this 1. Rainbow6 siege 2. Gow and rdr2 tied 3. Breath of the wild 4. Witcher 3 (I’m still in novigrad though) 5. Fallout 6. MgsV I can’t do top ten because the rest of them I don’t think deserve to be in the top ten. Also, Skyrim remastered would have been 1 but I didn’t count it as next gen

They will never understand... at least till they take a break out of the repetition of online battle royal etc. We all deserve a break to play a masterpiece... Enjoy a great story and phenomenal gameplay that is fluid with amazing graphics. Also I think they should add a actual jump button rather than a prompt on screen. Also I would like a village as well just to see normal citizens but not too fuss as Kratos wanted to live in Isolation so makes sense why there is no people or towns, the only other thing I would love is more weapons and that you could choose what weapons you would take out, and that the game starts with the same skills and trees but they just expand it in the next game, also I loved the game in case it sounds like I didn’t

@@Skyhigh864 idk about jump button.. i think they won't add this feature in this new take that they're going! but i think as long as we possessed the Blades they should add some specific objects that make us to be able to swing of them and srsly man climbable walls and the previous case which i talked about literally can make the game to be more relatable to the franchise!
