Can't say enough how proud I am of our boys in the Mannschaft. Second best team for sure as far as I'm concerned, the only team Spain couldn't beat in regular time, and that game was so close and literally a minute away from penalties. Unlucky to play the best team so early, but super excited for what Nagelsmann, his staff and the boys can do in the future. Definitely represented us as host nation with pride.

Here u there bruv Spain came out on top but during the game it was kinda exciting, nerve wracking to. Germany wasted some chances that game notably Fulkrug open goal, Havertz were the villains. Not forgetting the Cucurella Handball, which in my opinion wasn't aswell as Wirtz hitting the post.

@@beefbully4416 Yeah for sure, the buildup is really strong, but what we're probably missing most is an actual world class 9. Havertz as a false 9 and Füllkrug can both have good performances and score goals, but overall we waste too many of the chances we create and aren't clinical enough in front of goal. With someone like Kane/Martinez/Osimhen etc. in front of our midfield we'd be very happy, just look at Kane at Bayern with some of those players around him.

The Zubimendi comment is a good point. Watching back on streams from the likes of Mark Goldbridge is so funny when he treats a routine half-time injury substitution like his team just won a penalty in the 90th minute, seconds before conceding. As someone who supported Spain the whole tournament (not being Spanish) I didn't feel a lick of nerves about it (although maybe I should)

Very shrewd point about Zubimendi improving Spain over Rodri in the 2nd half against England. Also Fabian Ruiz was immense throughout the tournament. Vitinha was also a standout player for me.

true but I think its harsh to discount Rodri for player of the tournament. Props to Zubimendi for stepping into the breach but I don't think Fabian Ruiz or Olmo (most peoples other POTT) could have had the freedom to do what they did, if it wasn't for Rodri being the anchor man and recycling possession into them. Also worth mentioning that Zubimendi added a dynamism that Rodri doesn't have so that's probably what caught England off guard early on, well, at least that's one thing they got wrong. But yes, Fabian Ruiz probably would have got POTT if he had had more influential performances in the latter stages so they likely gave it to Rodri for his steadfastness.

⁠@@adamcang4683 Excellent points. I agree 100%. Ruiz, olmo, williams, and yamal were all fantastic players. However, without Rodri, i don’t think any of them could have played the way did for the entire duration of the tournament. I also agree that england was more psychologically and tactically prepare to face rodri. Hence, when zubimendi came on, he was such a different player from rodri that it threw england for a loop. As a result, this unexpected change gave spain the advantage.

Fabian wasnt better than Rodri. Can count the number of mistakes Rodri made on one hand. Fabian nearly gave France the game twice by giving them the ball inside his own box. He was far more direct than rodri, but Rodri was basically flawless and his deep lying play making ability and immunity to a press made spain impossible to pressure off the ball until they were already in the final third of the pitch.

Rodri is the most overrated player in football. Put him on a squad without a super team around him taking ALL pressure from him, he is mid at best. He's gets way too much credit for all the Spain and Man City talent

Quite enjoyed the prediction video, and this one gives a sort of closure to it. Great job! But bro, Serbia collapsing is a gimme at this point. The way our boys have been playing in the past few tournaments... All we do is scrape a point or two from the bottom of the barrel, and catch the first plane home. They get our hopes up with good showings in friendlies and/or qualifiers, and get groups that are manageable based on player quality, objectively. Then they go and dash those same hopes in a, usually, spectacularly mundane fashion. Mind you, we had England in the second half. As the Americans would say "y'all" got lucky. Jokes. :D Keep up the good work!

My biggest fail prediction-wise was probably Croatia, I had them in the semi finals again. But when you look at the stats Croatia actually did quite a lot right again, they just couldn't get the ball in the net often enough from their chances and xG. If they had made it out of the group they would have had not a terrible chance of reaching the semis.

It's always my surprise, trying to be clever pick & it never happens lol Predicting the Euro's (and now the World Cup going forward) is stupid anyway cos of that daft best 3rd place teams progress ruling. Seeing through Serbia but predicting Belgium to do well was crazy. Also not to brag, but I predicted Switzerland to make the semis (which they nearly did, you know?), but I also had Austria bottom of their group (at least I wasn't one of the people who kneejerk said they could win the tournament). I actually was the only one in our company betting game that got all semifinalists and the champion right. But sadly almost all knockout-games I predicted to go overtime finished in regular time and vice versa. So I lost a lot of points there and placed only 19. out of 63 😕
