The Blues signing Scott Stevens in 1990 led to Jordan Binnington. 1991: Blues sign Brendan Shanahan as restricted free agent from Devils. Stevens is awarded to the Devils as compensation. 1995: Blues trade Shanahan to Whalers for Chris Pronger. 2005: Blues trade Pronger to Oilers for Eric Brewer, Doug Lynch and Jeff Woywitka. 2011: Blues trade Brewer to Lightning for Brock Beukeboom and 3rd round draft pick. 2011: Blues use that draft choice for Jordan Binnington

Fun fact, Pronger going to Edmonton helped the Blues in getting Jordan Binnington. It started with the Blues trading Shanahan for Pronger. Then Pronger to Edmonton for Eric Brewer and some other stuff. Then Brewer was traded to Tampa for their 2011 3rd round pick which the Blues used to draft Binnington.

The 1987 Cam Neely trade was felt for over 30 freakin' years! It is still going on! Jacob Zboril is the latest branch of that trade for Barry Pederson. By far the worst trade in Vancouver Canucks history. And after the Loui Errickson free agent signing, it just screams for the Canucks to stay away from anything Boston

Please do a video on the Oiler's 2012 draft. Follow that one and it's hilariously bad. Yakupov, then they got 4th overall Griffin Reinhardt for picks 15/32 and 15 ended up as Barzal, and the rest of their draft didn't look any better. It couldn't have gone any worse for them.

You need to complete the trilogy here. You need to do the trade between Hartford and St. Louis when Hartford traded Chris Pronger to St. Louis for Brendan Shanahan. Not only is that trade tree still alive but it contributed to both St. Louis and Hartford/Carolina both winning the Stanley Cup.
@kylea3644
@kylea3644 2 жыл бұрын
Agreed. Sorry many years late, the pronger (STL) for shanahan (HAR/CAR) trade tree led not only to binnington (STL) but to major contributors for the 05-06 CAR stanley cup winning team (Erik Cole, Brind'Amour, Gerber, Hedican, Adams, etc.). This would be a cool other trade tree to show.

The rumor was Pronger had a sexual relationship with an Edmonton TV weathergirl. Whether true or not the rumors and accusations could make a player no longer want to play in the city. Another story was that Pronger's wife hated living in Edmonton and wanted to live somewhere far nicer.

Not because Pronger would've made us contenders, but because getting Pronger > Ducks likely don't win the Cup > Burke doesn't become Leafs GM > He can't trade for Phaneuf > Nonis can't sign him to an atrocious contract that doesn't even expire until next year.
