I'm in far northern Maine and it's always amazing to me watching these videos and MidWest videos how many deer you view in a day. You can hunt all season here and see one mature buck if you're lucky. I usually get one, but you really have to work for it.

Randy, You mentioned being able to get a white tail doe on private land, and that some places want hunters to do that. I think the word you used was "begging". I interpret that to mean they won't charge a significant fee if any. How would you recommend a non-resident find these places?

I would call in advance. Many landowners are asking hunters to help them manage whitetail does. I do it often for many of my CPA clients who have excess whitetail does.

It’s funny we hunt in corn field in Kansas and shoot whopper whitetail bucks every year but up in these big beautiful mountains there’s just small bucks

It is actually pretty marginal deer habitat. I've hunted KS and you guys have the table set for raising big whitetails with all that great food on the landscao\pe.
