I am an Austrian citizen but was born in Turkey. I am very interested in the historical sights in Israel. Esp. those with christian context and Jewish sites with old testamentary context. But also, I would love to mingle on the markets and get in contact with people or visit a kibbutz. I know, some of them are open to visitors. I have no idea, what the latest political state is. I am not so much in Turkish politics and due to some stress I had a few years ago, I avoid news all together. So I don't know how Austria is perceived nowadays.. Do you think, it would cause irritation, if an Israeli/hotel reception etc would know, or see in my passport, that I have a Muslim background or that I am Austrian? I would love to go all around, where all Israelis go around and live. It would be a pity, if I should avoid one or another area or getting in contact would be a challenge, the moment, I say my name. By the way, usually people cannot tell, where I am from. I had heard, Italian, Russian, English. In Austria a lot of people just assume, I am an Austrian, with an unusual surname. But my first name is Nursen. Should I just say another name? What is your estimation? Please be as honest and direct, as you can. You can tell me, that you don't know. That is fine. I only hope, you don't think, this is a trick question. It is not. I just discovered your channel today. PS: My sister told me, a friend of hers (I think from Bosnia) was there two years ago, and was very much irritated by the fact, that she got a registration number at the airport exit. is that something, that every tourist gets? What does this number mean?

Hello, I would like to know if it is possible to take a bus/train/ferry from Luxor Egypt after my tour there to head to Eilat, then head up to Aqaba by bus? After touring WadiRum,Petra,Jerash, then I will like to cross to Jerusalem and continue my Israel tour. Are these option possible instead of always flying to the capital before touring south? I appreciate any logistic tips, thank you.

We rented a car to do travels in Israel. While I am.from a large city at home (Houston Texas), the traffic signs in Israel were not the easiest to follow. I think it was my difficulty in reading Hebrew based words, but my sister would navigate next to me and that allowed me to focus on driving. Another issue was getting gas for the car. Outside of the big cities English is more uncommon. When I went to get gas for the car, all the writing on the pump is in Hebrew. Also there was the choice of the 2 filler nozzles for fuel. Of course, in the states the green filler is diesel and the black is gas and so I tried to insert the diesel nozzle in the tank. Luckily it didnt fit! Finally I just went inside and asked for help. Oh yes, its not gas, its called benzene.

What is called David's Tomb on Mt. Zion is not David's real tomb. David was buried in "the city of David," according to Kings. The City of David is located east of Mt. Zion and south of the Old City. David's palace has been found. His real tomb has not. The problem with tour groups is that they are always in a hurry. The advantage is if you go on a tour, you won't get lost. I recommend on your first visit, go with a tour. Maybe on your second as well. But on your third and subsequent visit, and you really need to visit Israel many times, I recommend going on your own. Getting around the cities is not too difficult. In Jerusalem, there is a light rail. Taxis are also a great way to get around. And Israeli Railways is the best way to get from city to city. I do hire a guide for a day if I am going outside of the city. Last visit I had a guide for Sde Boker and archaeological sites in the area. The time before I got a guide to take me to the rabbinic tombs and ruins around Meron. I got to see a lot which tours do not see since the roads are not passable by bus.

@@inmemoryofyossi8187 I found it interesting when reading the Torah to discover that in King David's final words when summarising some of the details of his military commanders, he makes the comment: "He also had gone down and killed a lion in the midst of a pit on a snowy day." (2 Samuel 23: 20) This means that in times past Israel once had snow!
