@@NaeemAminVlogs Well, I think he even mentioned it a few times before, but here is what makes sense: It's not exactly easy to visit certain countries when you have stamps of certain other countries in your passport. Pakistan is one of the more difficult countries when it comes to this. Basically: If you visit places they hate, they won't let you in. I don't know why exacly, maybe they fear spys or bad influence on their culture or something. But that's how things are in some regions.

In this village my father was born and now his grave is there. And I ended up in Germany working in IT. By the way Sofievka it's not the worst place to be because they have a lake, school, kindergarten, club, post office, two restaurants, small stadium and a big road from south Ukraine to Kiew. For someone this is fun video, for others it's like small travel to the past, especially if you can recognise not even houses but even some of older trees.

Wow - these kinds of comments are really valuable, thank you. How was the language situation when you grew up there? I've noticed that Bald seems to finally be dipping into Ukrainian a bit, but not being fluent in either Russian or Ukrainian it is hard to tell what people are actually speaking. (Except for Kiev I've only visited the west, Lviv, Lutsk, a bit up in the Carpaths. True story: On my first visit to Lviv in 2008 (or 06?) it took me 4 days before I realised it was Ukrainian and not Polish I was hearing all the time. After a roadtrip through Poland, the difference to Lviv was so slight that I thought everyone was speaking Polish to me, and that the city was full of Polish tourists... )
@msdn113 жыл бұрын
@@Asptuber I grew up in Kiew because my father mover their long before I was born. In Ukrainian villages people never spoke Russian, in the big cities ussr government did everything to make us switch to Russian. I started my school education in Russian but after Ukrainian became independent some schools switched to Ukrainian. But still in some big cities and eastern regions people using Russian more than Ukrainian. You shouldn’t expect something else after several centuries of Russia trying to destroy Ukrainian nation identity. They did it in the past with regions like Taganrog area or Kuban, and they keep going on with Donetsk, Luhansk. Russian needs one big Russian speaking country without any nationalities except Russians. But Russian means Ukrainian, Tatarian, Mordovien or any other people who don’t speak mother language anymore and lost their culture.
@Asptuber3 жыл бұрын
@@msdn11 Thank you. How interesting about villages, that makes sense. As an idiot and never really deeply thought about it as a city - countryside divide, more as a geographical distribution. Might also be because I associate Ukrainian so strongly with Lviv, because that was my introduction to the language. Only visited Kiev much later. But difference there (in Kiev) in just a few years (maybe 2016 and 2019?) was noticeable even to a non-slavic speaker.
