Your paintings are becoming more subtle in variations in tonal quality and saturation. These look much more realistic and professional than many of your previous paintings. Would like a DVD of this one.

Thank you so much! At the moment I do not have a full length lesson of this painting, but maybe I will make one. Here is a link to the full length lessons that are available: paintwithkevin.com/dvd-digital-downloads.html

Wow! You leave me speechless. Such a splendid eye for detail. What a beautiful painting,and, what makes your videos exceptional,is,NO irritating, distracting background "music" racket. It's a pleasure to listen to what you have to say. Excellent work,and,superb presentation.

I was just looking at your lesson videos; if it is called “oil lesson”, can acrylic be used in place of it? Thank you. BTW, I love your videos.
@KevinOilPainting6 жыл бұрын
Many of the same techniques can be used in acrylic. However, because of the difference in drying time, some of the techniques will have to be adjusted. But a nice effect can be achieved in both mediums. Here is a link to some acrylic DVDs that I have available: paintwithkevin.com/acrylic-digital-downloads.html

Hello Kevin, I had a question for you. I work with acrylics mainly and I have a difficult time getting small thin lines(such as your small twigs and branches). I use brushes that are seriously tiny and they still end up giving me thicker lines than I would like. Any tips?
@KevinOilPainting6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. My suggestion would be to make paint more runny by adding more water to the paint, which will help the paint flow easier.

Love your paintings Kevin. I've bought your 'Technique Series Clouds Digital Download' and am looking forward to getting started. There is one thing I would like to know and that is what Gel are you using for the underpainting? Is it the Non-Toxic Solvent-Free Gel Medium or some other one? I can buy the solvent free one in Australia.

LOLHAHALOL!!! Your saying "mushied" bout cracked me up!!! Beautiful painting, BTW!!! Thank you for sharing!!! Hope you can answer a question of mine : how do you get a limb on a tree to look like it's coming from the "actual - front" of a tree on the trunk area, instead of always the sides or backs of them? Is it a matter of shading or making the origin of the limb darker or lighter than the tree itself? Or, what is the technique? Thank you for any advice and assistance you may provide.

@delfinitry6516 жыл бұрын
what medium you used?
@KevinOilPainting6 жыл бұрын
Thank you for your question. I use a mix of 20% Clear Gel medium and 80% Titanium White oil paint. I apply a thin coat of white medium over the sky area only. The medium will increase your ability to blend the colors in the sky. However, having a medium over the dark areas such as grass, would impede our dark underpainting. The medium would also thin the dark base coat. This would make highlighting more difficult. Here is a link to the Clear Gel if you would like more information: paintwithkevin.com/oil-paint.html
