This video's title is THE LINE Construction Update - August 2024, and yet barely any actual updates about the LINE, more about every other project from NEOM. Honestly, I'm not impressed, it feels a little dishonest and clickbaity. Plus most of the info is old.

No it's the pipe dream of someone who figured out how elon musk scams people and implemented that formula into his own scam. Here's the steps on how elon and neom are scamming. 1. Create a grandiose idea and put it into a cgi commercial. 2. Market that video to everyone you can in attempt to get a many eyes looking at it. 3. Tell everyone looking that this is just the beginning and your idea will only get bigger and better with time. Over promise and under deliver 4. Start the construction with bare minimum effort to cut as many costs as possible. 5. Collect as many donations as possible and tell everyone that with more money you can reach the goal faster. 6. As time goes slowly make downgrades to the cgi until after a couple years the new claim is totally different what people expected at the beginning. 7. Finish the bare minimum then abandon the project and move on to the next scam. Now you know why the hyperloop, reusable rockets and neom exist. Their just fronts for scams.

The Line is a Fire Catastrophe waiting to happen! The density of the line per km2 is about 264,000+ which is more than 10 times that of Monaco! Given the 500 m tall 200 m wide enclosed interlocked buildings, the smoke from one single fire could kill hundreds of thousands of people. This project should be completely reviewed from a safety aspect.

I do not understand all this bitterness and envy that people have towards this project. Instead of supporting economically or scientifically this project that could accelerate the development of new technologies, new architectural solutions , new methods of transport and lifestyle, I only see detractors and harsh criticism. I was being made to think about this too a little while ago, God is why, and I don't know why, but I can think that somehow out to build their Elysium in the desert for their population, their population's apocalyptic shelter. Obviously trying to prepare for when no longer a petroleum assets dependent country. Obviously need to focus on the most important megaprojects, and forget about theme parks or anything too unnecessary and that's detrimental to The Line. I've always been impressed with The Line. I think it's great, and demonstrates the most important love and care for own population that I've been shown so far. A paradise, besides what offer for foreigners. It's an undeniably incredible feat of architecture and engineering, and yes in Spain we know about The Roman Empire, but it's never made clear about which ones in what left of The Al Andalus, but Umayyads are Saudi nowadays. Jeddah. It's so extremely complex reading the history, that's why I said that only God knows, knows what wants, but certainly absolutely nothing like them or capable of what they do in Morroco.

"The Line" will never work. It is not adjusted to the desert contures. In a desert it is all about water. Terrasses have to be build to hold the water in the landscape as long as possible to nourish plants and for filling the groundwater table. The mirror- facade of the line will irritate birds, they will smash against the facade. The ways of bigger animals will be blocked. Some parts of the building will be damaged by flash floods. Other project of NEOM may be successful on the long run.

NEOM was the flagship designed to bring in all the other projects, it was an unrealistic design given the timeframe for completion. I don't believe they will get to 2.4KM by 2030 and some of the projects tagged on will not come to fruition, they are exactly the idea's and concepts if they get scaled back 98% like the line we might have a problem?? Reality is they have cheap labour and land, problem is they don't have enough sand suitable for construction. The amount of sand required is in the billions of tons and the price tags per project failed to apportion concreate construction requirements. Bunch of building engineers clean slate, any idea goes this is what you get, then the bean finance team come in with the budget idea gets scaled, then the first bills start coming in, finance ask for scaling engineers drop basic crap to try maintain a building design. Final result nice shinny rock with mirrored glass that lacks sanitation, utilities are off grid, roading infrastructure is limited, integration with other projects is non existent because someone's ego. I will give credit where it is due, designs / 3D imaging it all looks good in isolation. If I was to give a progress grade it would be a D.

Has MBS ever heard of Mouse Utopia Universe 25? It won't work socially. If it could even be built, thats not happening. In maybe century it could be done if energy was vastly cheaper and in greater quantities. And an army of cheap robots. Still it's a dysfunctional dystopia. But heavy modifications and additions could be made.

One part i dont get is are the two 500m structures just framing to attatch other buildings to, are they just glass walls with the other structured build self supporting inside ? Also are the vertical elements going to be split up ? Will there be train size escelators ? How will someone living 400m up effectively get to level 20 2km away ?

Probably the Line would cost at least 20 Trillion usd to complete…or 100% of the kingdom’s GDP for the next 25 years or so… 👀

I hate when they slap the brand "environmental" above everything that is not. I am doing by PhD in environmental architecture and engineering. It is not sustainable if you add green walls to it and a lot of glass, it is not even designed to adjust to the environment surrounding it!. It is designed to be applied in Europe not Saudia Arabia, without regards to the type of plants or kind of construction or materials suitable for the region. I can't with these projects that say they are environmental and throw a bunch of plants on the structures and say that is it. I give up.

Would have been better if they announced a 1km diameter dome city. Would be more possible than this monstrocity, the line was a scam nothing more, or a pipedream from someone who thought he has more money than he does.
