Bought a sample of Pour Un Homme last month, followed by two 120ml bottles this week! It seems like there's a lot more subtle, complexities going on in this fragrance than I expected. I just love it! I think I'm finding that I prefer this perfume composition style over most modern scents. Le 3' Homme de Caron is absolutely amazing too, one of my top three. I have two bottle of L3, as well! Thank you for this video. When I was in Paris in late 1989 I visited a Caron salon it was not like modern shops, the perfumes were kept in a large glass container and only bottled when you made a purchase. I wish I had taken photos it was an experience that I will never forget. I do hope they survive but wonder who would buy the house, maybe Puig?

I recently purchased Caron Pour Homme de Caron for the first time but found that the lavender didn’t seem as lightly floral and fresh as what I expected. I was looking for those classic light purple flower notes here, but this is much more weighted. I’m not even sure I would’ve picked it out as lavender if I had not known it was there, so the vanilla & musk play equal parts in the structure of this fragrance.

I've almost purchased this several times and I think I finally will buy it - the original Pour Homme. I love lavender and vanilla, I still think Mon Guerlain would smell nice on men. I am very curious to try this, I just have a feeling I will love it. And I'm sure my husband will wear it. I would also like for him to wear the sport version, I love the thought of a zingy ginger note. I hope you are doing well. My favorite. I have the modern formulation, a modern aftershave, the 2014 millesime and two small travel bottles of the Parfum. As well as an old “black top hat” formulation. I have tried both Sport and L’Eau. Sport has some bubblegum kind of note that I hate, but the L’Eau version is not terrible

@@ThePerfumeGuy oh that is unfortunate. :( they probably just had a lot in Stock which they wanted to get rid of then. in Germany it is also harder to find Caron fragrances (for reasonable prices) but many France based Shops still have them. I hope the brand with its rich history survives but it seems that the distribution of caron is shrinking.

Personally it's there management changeover. Prior to that a different entity owned them and now it's a different so they redid a lot of their fragrances and they haven't really reached all of the discounters yet. Although I also think they are not overproducing their products to end up at discounters.

The perfume / L'Impact versions are really, really nice. Basically the EdT on steroids, a bit warmer and with more depth. Not as casual to wear as the EdT. Also sadly discontinued. The prices on eBay are ridiculous but there are reasonably priced bottles on parfumo once in a while.

For anyone new to the frag game, be advised if you're planning on buying the original Pour Un Homme de Caron that it's not for everyone. I'm a huge fan of lavender and vanilla but this frag is a hard pass. It literally smells like a very green, old lavender bar of soap. The kind of soap that's gone bad after not using it for a couple of years. It gets more tolerable in the dry down but that opening is too pungent to put up with. I haven't tried the flankers so can't give an opinion on those.
