For everyone who is concerned about the reformulation for new Dior Homme Intense 2020. The 2020 DHI has the same formulation as the juice in DHI which run from the Mid 2017 till date. The formulation code is 10950/A. So don't worry and enjoy the juice. Unless you like the old box and old bottle design

Soo a little back story. A friend of mine who works high up in Dior told me that the reason DHP and DHI are not released in the US is because the US mass market do not buy too many super deep, rich scents and that American men prefer to smell fresh and clean rather than dark, interesting and metrosexual. Hence, why they are not in the US. The new Dior Homme 2020 was actually created with the US market in mind as the iris note is removed and it doesn’t smell powdery like the original. Yeah here in Europe, we can just walk into the boutique and get Dior Homme Parfum and all the other flankers. They’re everywhere.

Thank you for the review ! I have been fighting with a decision regarding a backup bottle for DHI 2020 myself. So i have a backup bottle of DHP2020 and a chance to get a pre 2020 DHI for $168 ish ...shipped or I could get a DHI2020 5 oz for abut the same price. Not having smelt the pre reform and being a newer DIor collector, what do you suggest ? Jump on the 5oz since its available or just spring for the older reform? Or skip it entirely since i have a backup of dhp already ? Any help is greatly appreciated :)

Great video. I like Dior Homme Eau (purchased at Bloomies in March) a lot more than Dior Homme Sport. And I have tried Jules as well as Higher Energy, but had no desire to buy either one. The day I smelled Dior Homme Intense blew me away. It was January 2020 and it was on its way out but I did not wait and grabbed a bottle. Within a month I blind bought Dior Homme Parfum when it popped up at the discounters and was not disappointed with that purchase.

I have the new 100ml DHP parfum . It's a 2019 batch and I compared it to my 2019 75ml bottle . I couldn't get any difference between them . I also compared both to my 2015 DHP bottle. They came off slightly more dusty dry . The 2015 felt a bit more rich and smoky . Less dusty dry . It could be due to aging though. I don't know if it was reformulated from 2015 to 2019.

I've been on a quest to find the perfect fragrance for me, buying over 120 decants, I can say this is the best smell I've experienced. I am thinking about buying two bottles of DHI because this will now be on me daily. The fragrance is not insulting, is very warm and welcoming, versatile dressups, and should not choke anyone out. I can imagine this fragrance not being very popular because people are overwhelmed by lipstick notes atfirst, however the real magic happens the the dry down. Most people aren't aware of fragrances changing scents throughout the day - often referred to dry down notes - so only real fragrance collectors should know of this gem.

Thank you for your video. I really wanted to get the Homme parfum because it seems the rest of the concentrations don't preform on me that will. I was looking for a kind of powdery like scent and you really sold me on both the parfum and the intense. So I went ahead and ordered the Homme eau de parfum and if it's like the Dior Sauvage line (which I have the eau de parfum and the exilir) then I should be fine. Thank again.

Hey Sebastian... i was interested to hear your thoughts on this matter as ive always loved the old dhi but never bought it .. when 2020 came around i was trying to buy an old one as you could find them still but i missed out on being able to even online .. i ended up getting the New one in a david jones department store and the lady and the dior section of the fragrances insisted it was the same just new bottle despite how many have said its different and weaker...when i got it i really knew it was different ... it was dryer and didnt have the juicy buttery cola choc feel to it... it also fade pretty quickly... as we all know fragrances do develop after getting air in the bottle and masceration ...i havent used it for quite a while many months... while watching your clip just know i pulled it out to have whiff and i really do feel like it has become richer and more akin to the original though colour is lighter than

Starting from 2017 (including 2020s), they have the same formula codes. So DHI is not reformulated in 2020. I have DHI 2014, 2019 and 2020. Never smelled Jewels. I have Dior Homme Parfum 2014, 2016 and 2018 batches. The only place I've found these in the US are at duty free stores in international terminals and at the duty free land crossing to canada at detroit. Could it be something with the ingrediants that they can't sell Intense or Parfum in the US...same with Chanel Ed Blanche? Otherwise, europe has DHI. When I was in Barcelona, Lisbon and the canaries in fall 2019 Parfum was a rare find, I picked up 3 back up bottles where I did find it in Grand Canaria.

Where did you buy the Dior Homme Intense - 2020 version. That's very important these days, although the 2020 bottle of The One - EdP I bought from Macy's is incredibly weak. Weaker than anything I've ever purchased.

I think this one was formulated around 2017-2018, before any change of bottles. I bought a 2019 botlle and it’s sooo different than my 2015 one. Smells thinner, woodsier (although pretty transparent nonetheless), with less emphasis on ambrette/vanilla. Kinda fresher overall. The upside is that a year later, it changed and become more base notes based, longer lasting (but still noticeably different than my 50ml from 2015).

This is a CONVINCING video. Convincing at least to go find it and have a sniff. To somebody like me (as I have mentioned already and will now stop mentioning, an "old newbie"), who is at the moment browsing purely by power of the spoken word and imagination, watching reviews like yours, experimenting with Fragrantica's "search by notes," analyzing the outcomes of my (at least, what seem to me to be my) preferences and comparing them to people's written reactions, watching you and other reviewers--to somebody like me, this is a very vivid and accessible review and the notes you describe seem to match my tastes. I have had the same experience, I find DHI 2020 smells just slightly fresher to the 2011 version, apart from the bottle everything else is the same. And yes its orgasmic! Its a shame they won't bring it to the states, I live in London but just flew through Doha to Oz and found the whole Dior line including the entire les exclusifs line in the duty free shops, so I will get the Parfum on the way back, which I have also tested and have found not different to the previous version except you just get an an extra 25ml with the new 100ml bottle for the same price as the previous 75ml version :)

I actually enjoy my recent Dior homme sport 2012 100ml bottle acquisition, the iris not and ginger note make it soo classic and better than the 2017 formulation which I also own. A similar travesty was done by Dior in the discontinuation of Dior homme Eau which I own two 100 ml bottles of and is frequently compared to Prada L’homme which the former I find to be much better Than the latter. And the iris lipsticky vibe that those of us are addicted too are not appreciated by the masses like the Sauvage line, which is why I suspect that they keep it soo stocked and available through your the US 😭

You'll like it. I was nervous to get it myself. I just got in my bottle, and it's absolutely amazing. Different, but classy and elegant. I've never smelled Dior Homme in any form, and this is just a powdery, pleasant thing. If you like slightly heavier type scents, it'll be right in your neighborhood!

I first tried DHI I liked it and was close to getting it. I eventually decided not to the iris note was too strong for me. I did my research and settled on DHP and blind brought at the airport a year ago now. It's definitely my favourite winter fragrance. It's a desired taste but classy, I really hope when they do the official release of the 100ml they really think about selling it wider than Europe. I have very briefly tried the new Dior 2020 not the DHI but the simply named and should of been named different Dior 2020. I was not too impressed seemed less natural smelling and more bland to me, I understand the notes are very different and I knew that before smelling. To me DHP is best and if the juice never changes it the one I would choose to wear on my wedding day. My girlfriend is also a strong fan.

It's kind of weird sometimes the worldwide perfumes distribution. For example here in Argentina you can find ALL Dior fragrances in every perfume shop with the exception of the Parfum one (even though it was available when it launched) but in the other hand Chanel is really really hard to find here, only in the chanel boutique 🤷🏻‍♂️

I heard Iris is very expensive. Could this be the reason it is a “limited” release to EU only? Is that the reason they discontinued my favorite Eau for Men? That is an easy grab signature crowd pleaser. Is that why they reformulated DH and DHS in the US and removed Iris? It is starting to make me wonder? Maybe it is true and the “Iris” note wasn’t selling in the US so axed it completely from the DH line in the states. I’m shocked they didn’t reformulated Eau for men like they did with DH & DHS and remove the Iris. They dumped a lot of coin into marketing it. Also the new Batman is the cover boy... so that could only help sales. I could only think Iris just cost too much. Thoughts?

Parfum is the KING...by far... I tried the 2020 Intense and to my taste it feels like, lighter... I prefer the older version. I would say the same about eau de toilette... The new version to my taste is way lower quality than the predecessor . I haven't tried the new Perfume, but a couple of videos from you tubers suggests that it's practically the same... if true, it's a huge relief for me! This kind of perfumes should stay the same... like... FOREVER!

As a 53yr old ive never cared for the original DHI because of the overwhelming powder and sweetness, it reminds me of a female perfume. I was hoping that in the new version that both of those qualities were toned down, if not ill have to look for something similar. I like the DNA of it but it has been way too much for me.

My speculation here is that US people love the simpler fragrances more. Easy going, polished, no corners. Whereas here in Europe, people want to separate themselves more and show their uniqueness. But this is just my feeling at this point.

The Parfum is ok. Thicker but one dimensional. Dior homme intense is superior in my opinion. In all aspects. Nice video Sebastian.

Hi Sebastian!! I live in Mallorca, Spain and here is easy to get all of them. I´m a big fan of DHP and seeing what Dior use to do I decided to buy a second bottle of DHP 2020 and I´m thinking to buy another one just in case they decide to remove from their catalogue. I´m also interested to get a bottle of Dior Homme Original from their site. So if you wanna know how I get the new DHP compare to the older one I´ll tell you that is the same juice. I tried both at the same time and I just noticed a little difference due to the maceration and oxygenation of an open bottle after a few months. Actually, I compared my second bottle of DHP 2020 with the first bottle that I bought of DHP 2020 and I noticed the same difference that I got the day I compared it with the older one of 75ml. Just a matter of maceration and oxygenation. So, if you are interested in a DHP bottle I can get it for you and send it to USA. You can do the purchase on any web that deliver to my address and once I receive it I can send it back to you. ;)

The only Homme I don't have is the Parfum. I need to get it but it's so hard to get and $$$$. I've got the 2020 Intense and was so happy it hadn't been changed. I've got Homme 2011, Sport old and Sport new, Eau, and intense. It boggles my mind how these, and Fahrenheit flankers are not officially released in the USA. Fahrenheit Parfum is too good to not be known in the US.

That, or maybe the online community is completely out of touch with the rest of the world?? I dunno. Dior Homme 2020 was a heartbreaker for me though. Essentially the last straw that confirmed the designer transition had taken place. Same thing that happened to pop music by the end of 2010. Goodbye music, hello compressed electronics.

Big fan of Dior Homme Cologne here. Yes I have both the Dior Homme Intense, and the Dior Homme Parfum, the latter I got directly from Dior here in Europe, I´m in Germany. I have not smelled the older DH Parfum, so couldn´t compare to that. But I find the parfum stronger than the intense. Of course is not the same fragrance, it has the leather aspect. Both are super refined smells indeed. I couldn´t easily decide which one I prefer, both are close, and both are simply awesome. Very high quality, very refined and elegant. My intense is also relatively new, got it this year but earlier. The distribution issue with the US is strange, but maybe yes maybe not enough sales to release in such a large market. No idea. Marketing does mess up things badly in companies some times, so you never know. When getting the parfum I didn´t notice the original Dior Homme was available on Dior´s website, I will check again now.

Dior may be forfeiting opportunity in USA due to mistaken assumption noses in this country aren't sophisticated enough to appreciate some of their releases. Or could they be creating artificial shortage? The Parfum is so greatly hyped by reviewers they could surely sell all they can make. The same condition exists with Cartier Pasha Parfum, Rochas Moustache Eau De Parfum and Valentino Noir Absolu. I got them but they are not readily available to most buyers.

Am currently based in Qatar and Dior homme intense and perfume are in most perfume stores. I recently got the intense and 75 ml of Dior homme perfume. Those two are my favorite frags ever.

I don't understand companies' fragrance marketing strategies at all. I purchased Dior Homme Parfum from Selfridges (although it doesn't appear to be available anymore) and the Intense from a discounter. Just this year Narciso Rodriguez released Narciso Ambree in Europe and Canada, but not the U.S. And that's an American designer. It's just so odd.

Intense 2020 are better for me, the older version I had a 5ml sample, tried it a couple of times and did not like how much it smelled of make-up. I don't get that with 2020 version, its there but not in your face there.

@@ThePerfumeGuy Yes indeed I noted that, there is no Iris in the Dior Homme 2020. But I am talking about the Dior Homme Original eau de toilette. No Dior Homme 2020 eau de toilette. I am in France and Dior Homme Original is available in stores. Between Dior Homme Original eau de toilette and Dior Homme Intense eau de parfum, which one? Sillage, versatility and for everyday wear.
