Quite a moving episode for me, first because these three treasures take me back to my earliest TV memories, second because it was transmitted four days after Arthur died, having been interviewed on Pebble Mill just hours before.

Superb tv. Noel Gordon died 3 years after this show.. Arthur Lowe had died before it was broadcast !!!

Looks Familiar - Arthur Lowe, Bob Monkhouse, Noel Gordon 19.04.82 (Complete Episode) 1033am 15.10.24 i used to be off school with asthma and telly was basically pebble mill of an afternoon... prior to that crown court and prior to that the sullivans..and prior to the sullivans schools and colleges.

Remember this from the 70s and 80s the frightening thing is if it came back now it would feature shows from the 70s when I was a kid

Arthur lowe joined the territorial army in February 1939 , and was Amongst some of the first soldiers to join the main army in September 1939, due to his eyesight was transferred to working on radars and stationed in Egypt ,

Little known fact about Noel Gordon- she took part in some of the very first experiments with colour TV in the UK, years before the British decided which system to use.

Sad to see Arthur in failing health here. It's a pity he didn't do more to take care of himself; he was only 66 when he passed!

All had success on ITV but Lowe did it on the BBC.

Looks Familiar - Arthur Lowe, Bob Monkhouse, Noel Gordon 19.04.82 (Complete Episode) 1030am 15.10.24 one for the kids to tut- tut at when the credits start rolling..... and it's raining out and there's nowt to eat..... but watching now you hanker for shows like this - wherein they have a bit of a laid back chat with a famous egg. one surmises agents would have been clamouring to get the stars on shows like this... now they'd be desperate to divert the star into more profitable ventures.
