Looks cold! Thanks to those sailors who brave the great lakes in the cold months! Thanks for sharing.❤

No problem! That would be a brutal job, working the decks in an ice storm, potentially getting blasted by the lake

Sorry the video might get a little jumpy for some play throughs towards the beginning but clears up after a few seconds, not sure why. That’s the second time in a row something like this has happened, I even tested the video out several times before releasing it, not sure what’s going on. It’s just a few seconds though so I’ll keep the video up for now, just make sure to comment if it gets any worse and I’ll remake the video

I love the viking shields. She is a happy ship I think. Thank you for the videos and information. Truly brilliant.

@@jaynorris3722 thank you! She seems like she has a fun crew, they once set up an inflatable dancing thing on the deck once as they went through the canal lol (naturally the one time I decided not to film!) but that was fun!

They'll all be wearing ice mustaches soon enough, I would imagine. I never really thought of Nanticoke being such an anomaly for a port, but you are correct. Growing up around 15 miles up the lake in the 60's and 70's, I remember when that whole area was just lakeshore cottages and a closed WWII Royal Canadian Air Forces base. Then the petroleum refinery, steel plant and now shuttered, coal-fired electricity plant were all built there, transforming the entire area.

Single digit cold here in Milwaukee tonight, with a high of 14 degrees tomorrow. It's cold alright. Good luck to all the ships and their crews. I hope they all find safe harbor soon.

Great piece. Winter has arrived in Duluth it seems. By the way, Paul had this arrival too shooting from the north pier. Got to see it from both port and starboard.😄😄😄

Were those Christmas decorations that I saw on the ship? 🎄

The shields? Nah those are always there, Viking shield decorations. Great Lakes Fleet has some fun crews, the other ships have a pirate flag that they pass around from ship to ship, I think I saw it on Clarke last, not sure if they still have it
