It's definitely a Trilogy. Tetsuya recently stated that the 3rd (And seemingly final) entry is being worked on concurrently with Part 2 though it's still in early stages. I'm expecting Part 2 and 3 to be completely different from OG7 and find some weird way to make both versions of FF7 work together as 1 story line. Like a split-time-line thing where elements in one affect the other.

God I loved Crisis Core, so glad it is getting an upgrade and re-release. That game was so epic when it came out and even now, if you released it then it would still be a hit. Game ahead of its time man.

Crisis core is definitely a remake due to the fact the material/items command menu is different than how the OG game worked. In the OG game that bar on the right would have Attack on the far left, items, and then the spells/close range skills (limit breaks) listed and you'd swap between them using the right/left d-pad buttons if I'm remembering right (been a long time since I last played it but saw a comparison of both versions of the game and the difference there was all options for attacking, using items, defending, etc were on the bar kind of like how the KH/FFVIIR command menu works (just horizontal instead). Attacking seems to be given it's own dedicated button now as the attack button isn't shown in the Crisis Core Reunion Menu, spells/materia seem to replace the item menu likely when you press either L1/2 or R1/2, items seem to be the default thing you see on the screen until you press the materia button and you swap items using left/right on the d-pad as you can see potions for HP, MP, and AP, and I'm gonna assume any close range/non magic abilities either get their own separate button like spells or fall under the Materia button as well and the limit breaks are still done via the slot machine gauge (been a long time so forget the name lol...edit: just saw it say DMW about the slot machine so i think it was called the DMW gauge...whatever that stood for again lol). At least that's the noticeable differences I see combat wise. Edit 2: after looking at the video again they use the L and R to swap between items on the OG Crisis Core's command menu to move between attack, items, and materia (note comparison video i looked at is by Wingelm which was released on June 19 2022). As for graphics after looking at the comparison video i mentioned before it could be a lot of HD upscaling but at the same time i could just as easily be completely new assets as well from what I saw. Edit after pulling up the video again the assets are almost certainly new and it's more of a Remake than HD upscaling remaster as there are multiple instances of some background stuff being removed or changed completely, for example the front train engine has far more parts in the Crisis Core Remake trailer than in the OG Crisis Core and some aspects of the design are different as well, likely to match any changes made in FF7 Remake part 1. For the most part all characters look to be reworked to look closer to their FF Remake counterparts more so than the OG Crisis Core versions (if they're not outright using the Remake assets for characters in both games...the Shinra Soldier design definitely look like they just took from Remake). Ironically the final Zack vs Shinra army scene for the end of OG 7 looks very close to each other in both the OG game/Remake with maybe the only real big difference being the trim of the Buster Sword going from Gold in OG Crisis Core to Silver in the Remake...and of course the new one looks a bit cleaner as well (hell the cutscenes in Crisis Core were definitely some of the best looking in gaming in general). As for Part 2 for the Remake...since it's not on PS4 I probably won't be getting it at launch (same with FF16) and may only get it after it comes out on Steam (as I don't particularly want to get a PS5 tbh and if I was to get something new at this point it'd probably be a PC as this one's about 7 to 8 years old now so I'll need a new one soon anyway) even if that takes 2 to 3 years after initial release...throw in I didn't like how they more or less made an Expanded version/Intergrade a year after part 1 I'll probably be waiting until all parts are out and re-buy 1 and get 2 and 3 after I'm sure all are done/don't have dlc/expanded versions of the games and can get them cheaper on top of that...maybe in a All in One style pack. Crisis Core's Remake I'll likely get day 1 due to being on PS4 though, especially since as far as FF games go, outside of FF Crystal Chronicles, Crisis Core would be my favorite FF game in regards to mainline related games (which I'll be blunt... I am not nor have ever been a FF fan tbh...I'll like some individual games here and there like Crisis Core, Crystal Chronicles, and FFVII Remake part 1 but most others I'm either neutral on (10 and 1 and 2), meh on (OG 7 (would be higher for story but hated the combat system to the point I dropped playing the game and watched the story on KZbin to get the story before 7R released), and 12 (dislike the MMO style auto combat and then there's also the fact my copy got corrupted didn't help either...story was kinda ok i guess)), or outright dislike (13 and 15). Any other FF game not listed I have not played though and as far as mainline games go 16 so far is the only one who's combat system actually interests me and looks good (unlike 15's which was meh imo...well for Noctis anyway, the other 3 characters were more fun to play as, especially in their dlcs (which are problematic due to outright being ripped out of the story imo and the biggest issue with 15 for me was a very poorly executed story). With all this said...biggest concern I have for the Remake of 7 is how much is gonna be cut out to be able to get all post Midgar stuff into just 2 games...as for why that's a concern it'd be because in the cutscene only video I watched of OG7 Midgar was just 3 hours of the 13 hour playthrough/video or 1/4th of the entire game...which leaves 3/4ths of the OG's story left that only 2 games will supposedly cover which, unless they cut out stuff or make the games about 1 1/2 the size of 7R Part 1 (so about an additional 30 or so hours i guess) with far more assets than Midgar makes it look very unlikely that they'll be able to get all of what's left from OG7's story into the game without some drastic re-working (especially when you consider how much longer they made some of OG7's dungeons such as the Train Graveyard and Hojo's lab). If they had finished the game with the Jenova fight on the ship between the first and second continent I may have believed 3 parts were likely as I feel that would've been a better cutoff point but with where it's cutoff is at now I don't see 2 parts being enough to really adequately tell the remaining story as well as continue any new plotlines added (the new Bike guy for example and anything added to Intergrade (which i haven't played btw so maybe something there has already changed things greatly besides the whole Dementor BS)) too unless they're making some drastic changes and completely will be diverging from the OG's story at some point.

Much like the remake, I'm guessing this is gonna be action real time. I wanna be excited for Crisis Core, but after awhile and thinking about Zack being alive again, I was excited about what role he'll play, but now, it feels omitted, and there's also the issue of localization to consider.

Havent played the remake nor the original but i did play crisis core, so im wondering, is the budding romance between Aerith and Zack not a thing now? Edit: Bruh i just notice, that you would have to pay $210 for the full game of ff7 if they are making a part 3 lmao, meanwhile the whole game of ff 16 would be $70 unless square makes it so that 16 is in parts as well....

If you want the OG's story you can also do what I did as I hated the ATB combat system of 7 and other FF games with ATB: watch a cutscene only video on KZbin (about 13 hours long) and then play the Remake/later parks in the future after they go on sale and all parts come out/have been out for a while...if you're lucky and wait long enough you may even get a KH All in One Scenario with all the FF7 Remake games (maybe even Crisis Core Remake too). Regardless buying these/any games for $70 day 1 is BS when the industry hasn't really been adding $70 worth of content and has, in fact, been taking content out of games to sell as dlc afterwards. I may buy series I like for $60 day one but I will not buy any with this new BS $70 price point as I do not want to see games get price gouged when we buy in with these BS prices when their claims of needing to raise prices have been BS for a while now given they keep cutting shit out to sell as dlc/microtransactions which make most of their money anyway for most AAA devs.

I might play the og game at some point as well, but i was just wondering if Aerith and Zack was still a thing cuz i think in CC they were kinda close. Also i wish Zack was the MC for the whole series, he has alot of character that i like (maybe cloud does too but he doesnt look that way).

Same...hell I like the combat system far more than OG VII's in fact (granted...OG 7/turn based ATB is my most disliked combat system though with maybe only MMO style auto combat being as bad/worse...and yes I dropped OG7 due to that and wound up watching a story/cutscene only video in preparation of the remake before 7R released so I'd be familiar with the OG story). Granted not the best action combat system I played (still too much menu management mid battle imo), would say Tales, Ys, Souls, DMC are all far better action wise (which is why combat wise I'm kinda excited for FF16...granted won't be getting day 1 as I don't have/plan to get a PS5 anytime soon/if at all so may be waiting for the PC release unless they go back and make a PS4 version (since from what was shown so far the PS4 should be able to handle 16 fairly easily as it looks no taxing than 15 or say Tales of Arise which had far more particle effects going off than what was shown in any 16 trailer so far)). Story wise ya the Dementors were stupid and as far as maps go they probably could've cut the Train Graveyard and Hojo's lab in half and added the Nibelheim events and kept going until the first Jenova encounter on the ship which would've been a better stopping point for a trilogy imo.

for crisis core remake i be playing it on xbox series x but in japanese voice actor i never played the original on psp in jp only in dubbed the psp voices was . and i be on series x while everyone else 99% of yea will be on ps5 or pc . i just get bored of playing finalfantasy games on playstation since 1995 when i was a kid lol .on the ps1 and in ps2 ff8 9 and 10 and 10-2 i played on ps3 on ps3 i played the remakes and then on ps4 i played type 0 remake and 12 remake so i rebuy them all on xbox one . they dont play that bad
