Hi Linda. If you want to make a blanket you might find it easier starting with something like a 10 stitch blanket pattern in garter stitch. The tutorial on here is really good. You could start off with your first one in all one colour or a variegated yarn, and once you have made one blanket and are more confident, do some with different coloured squares. Depending on the gage of your loom you would either need to use a chunky yarn or 2/3 strands of DK yarn. If using a finer gage loom you could get away with one strand of DK yarn, but it will take much longer on a fine gage loom. Not sure what country you are in, but in the UK you can get some soft acrylic yarns for as little as 99p a ball from home and bargain or pound stretcher which are perfect for the 10 stitch blanket. left handed: kzbin.info/www/bejne/oGKVp2auo9SUpK8 right handed: kzbin.info/www/bejne/a5nHc4d4ppWMjZo
