Wow,thank you so so much 4 this. Seriously! These are such a great idea & so pretty. I've needed 2 decide btwn making earwarmers or a wide headband lately,but really needed something for keeping my ears warm that isn't gonna be as restricting as a hat..I've recently had/am having noticeable hair loss & decided 2 get/try wearing wigs & hair pieces. Unfortunately I noticed 2 l8 that a couple of the long wavy units I got w/out bangs look great (& seem very realistic imo), up until u look closely @ the part line in the middle/the forehead & hairline. Now tho,these look like the perfect solution for covering that up,plus keeping my ears warm,while also allowing the long pretty curls/waves 2 show in the back! You really helped me out by showing us this idea/making this video & I'm really looking forward 2 making these & wearing them w/my new hair. I'm sure this will help me have so much more confidence about getting out in public,so I really can't thank you enuf loomahat(Denise?)!!

I did a garter stitch brim which leaves a seam in the front where you switch from one stitch to the other on each row. I know there's a way to prevent this but when I made a second smaller earwarmer (in Santa hat colors!) I just started the decreases at peg 1 instead of halfway around the loom and it worked fine.

Hi there! I have finished this project twice with no problems and they came out so adorable! I do have a quick question if you don't mind. On the purple version that you completed and showed, is there anything you did differently on that one? Or maybe different yarn? That one looks more relaxed, longer and maybe thinner? Sorry I suppose that was more like 3 or 4 questions :). I appreciate all of your tutorials and all of your hard work and patience! Thank you!!!

Oh! I tried this on an odd 33 peg. Could easily follow the decrease. Little bit of a different out put. The hat became tight and smaller, but it Suits for those whose head circumference is lesser than mine. Yes without the pompom, it doesn't look great. I'm trying on a 66 peg one so I get the output little better one! The one I made, looked like a Weaver birds' nest. It was stretchy at the brim. Happy that I enjoyed doing this within a day while watching a movie. I did 25 rows for the brim. As explained, on another video, the change of the gauge may be the output or the end product was of different size. How to do a back or front long tie-able brim? In this project. Long scarf like brim could only help to fit all sizes and that which covers the ears. I would like to know. Can I collect with you on the email? I
@irishredrose51455 жыл бұрын
So, I can't tell how many times you actually do a decrease on each side. You show to decreases for each side and then your at the end taking off the last three. Do you just continue to decrease each side until you get down to last 3 pegs???

Hey Dawk so sorry - I thought I had answered that email. You had requested a more traditional knitted bandanna that you have to tie in the back with tiny knots around the edges. Right now that was not on my project list and Theresa Higby already had a video for the little knots - I was sure that I had given you a link to her video - if not - here it is kzbin.info/www/bejne/d6uakqqCgNSYr7s . Please need help with the pegs. I tried using 66 pegs.Fits well. But too much short rim even after increasing to 35 rim rows. And White hat single strand video wasn't found to follow. Also, decrease on a 66peg gave a long scarf but short rim with 35 rows. Really want to connect to you on this project and to know if you've a pattern for the open scarf hat. When you say 100yds of yarn does that mean both skeins? Because part of one is used for the brim. I hope this isn't a silly question.
@LoomaHat2 жыл бұрын
Hi Kim - skeins don’t always have the same number of yards. If you’re skeins only have 50 yards you will need 2 skeins but if one of you skeins has at least 100 yards - you will only need one. I haven’t reviewed this pattern in a while so I’ll say that the amount of recommended yards in the video and or pattern is for the whole project including the brim. Hope that helps 🙂… And there are no silly questions. 🥰

Hi Michela - it's hard to say for sure because peg count is not size. I don't know what size your loom is - but I would think that you can not make one large enough for an adult : kzbin.info/www/bejne/b2POY3ltj56rldk .

I use 1 skein - just pull one from the side - www.loomahat.com/knit-with-two-strands/

I have a yarn ball winder...when I'm working with 2 strands, I always wind my skein into a cake with it...then I can use the inside and outside strands together as one, and they never tangle. :)

Sounds messy...Best bet, wind them into balls first (we hate it :-( I know) ...I went to the Dollar store and bought two Large Flat bottom plastic bowls (same color). Placed them on top of each other, made marks w/a sharpie about an 1-inch up from the 'Lip" of the bowls (and as wide as you would like) 4-marks in all. Drilled holes, threaded with zippy ties, now it upens and closes. I drilled 2-holes in the front and use a Paper-clip to keep it shut. One Hole close to the bottom or top, personal perferncances, electric tape around it so the yarn won't catch and thread the yarn(s) I'm working with through it...Works like a charm! No fuss No mess! When use 2-Strands of yarn (double stranding a pattern) or VERY large balls of yarn, I place it inside of the bowls. It keeps every thing clean and untangled :-) Give it a shot and see what you think.

Quick question. I am using thinner yarn so I already have two strands. Should I add a third or just stick with the two strands? Thank you in advance.

Depending on the size of the yarn. I used size 4 worsted weight yarn with 2 strands. Worked out well.
