It shouldn't matter whether you use a loom, knitting needles, or a crochet hook. What matters is the effort you put in to your work. Thx 4 sharing. 👍☺👍

Thank YOU soOOOOOOOooo Adienne - I try and I pray that I can answer as many questions as I can. I was concerned some folks would be upset but my job is to answer as many loom knitters as possible. 🙂🌻💛.

I flatbed machine knit, loom knit, and Kromski Harp weaving loom knit, and love the looks that each produces. Never let anyone rob you of the joy you get from using your creative skill. The more we do, the better it gets, or "practice makes perfect". Learn all we can about the tool you work with, and one day they will ask you to make something for them. This channel is known for the quality of teaching on how to work with looms. Learn, learn, learn!!! Stick with it and don't give up. Appreciate your own efforts, and don't let the discouragers cause you to 'drop out'! Nice thing about working with yarn is that you can unravel it, and do it again (LOL)

Denise, this video production is the cat's meow! It is so well done ; it is beautiful and encourages your followers to create their own path in using our craft. There may be others whose hands no longer are supple and are sometimes difficult to move. Being able to still knit by using the loom is a lifesaver. Keep up[ the good work . We depend on you.

Thank you, thank you, thank you, for doing this Utube video. I belonged to a group of knitters/crocheters and a group that is craft and knitters. When I went to join the knitters/crocheters and they found out that I was a loom knitter, they gave me the cold shoulder - more or less deciding that my work would be less acceptable than theirs. That was before they saw the finished projects that I created, they immediately wanted me to make more dolls and animals for their “sale”. They continued to consider my work “not really knitting” and kept to their little cliques so I went to the other group that was more accepting of new ideas and unorthodox people like me. I have suggested to the ladies in this group that they watch your videos, since they are just the best and I pass on what I know and have learned from you. My main point is to keep an open mind to how people approach different art forms. An open mind is the door to new discovery.

Thank YOU sooooOOOOo much for this - I totally agree. And it's ok to try and enlighten others but if they don't want to join you then it's ok to step off and go else where. We knit with a loom because we love it not for acceptance into any other community.

I have a Yarn Craft group on Facebook that is for ALL yarn crafts not just one because I want everyone to be able to feel accepted and appreciated for their talent. I was looked down on when I want to my local yarn shop, all I did was mention that I crocheted and the place went dead silent......you would think that I just said a bad word. I never went back and that's when I decided to learn how to knit as well as loom knit. I also started my group for the same reason......we are all crafters and Artisans, no matter which one we chose. Happy Crafting!!!!! 💜

@@LBMoody46 I had the same problem when I went into a yarn shop and the ladies were rather obnoxious. You would think I arrived without taking a shower before I came to shop. All those wrinkled noses because I dare ask for help. Sheeesh !

@@mayolson2 Thanks for your comment - this is exactly how I felt. Life is too short, to put up with people's prejudices. If you want to learn loom - stick with KZbins from LoomaHat. I have learned so much this way.

I have to say that most people don't even know that a loom exists for knitting. They'll just think it's store bought because of the even stitches that look like it's machine made. Most people don't know how to knit at all! So I'm glad I could make warm hats and scarves that could get me and my partner through the winter months.

I really appreciate this video as sometimes I get just hooked in to one stitch and really depending on the project other stitches can make the difference as you showed and told us and why. I like the knit purl but really must revisit other stitches that would be a compliment to my project. Thanks dear one you are always helpful and it is appreciated as I pointed out in the beginning of my comment!

Yes, same for me but that's not the case for all loom knitters. Some love the tool but perfer to have projects that look more like the traditional look of a needle knit fabric. I want those loom knitters to know that they don't need to get rid of their looms.

My loom knit socks were 1000x better than my first socks on needles. I learned to knit on circular needles which is faster and more potable than looms, but it took me a while to get there.

@LoomaHat2 жыл бұрын
Michelle, this might sound odd or simplistic but adding a stitch marker to your Peg 1 ( the first peg you knit) that will help you stay on track. I have some in my store but any stitch marker will help, even just adding some nail polish to the top of the peg. Hope that helps. etsy.me/3il7WdE

Andy - this is not a bad thing its only about preference. Some people want to use their looms to create fabrics that look more elaborate or complex. Like some people like the garter stitch and some people don't.

I loom-knit, needle-knit, and hand-knit ... But this is the first time/place that I hear someone says that others mock/insult loom-knitting. Is there even a necessity to bring that up and plant a negative thought in people that might otherwise not have such concern?
@LoomaHat Жыл бұрын
This is a first for YOU - you are not the entire world. What should do we do with those that do experience the negative speech? Ignore them to keep fragile people in a temporary bubble?
@Geo_888 Жыл бұрын
@@LoomaHat You are correct that I am not the entire world, and I certainly would not like to be. I did not dismiss your looming talents either. In fact, as a part of my work mission, this is speaking for people with mental/emotional health struggles leaning on a recovery hobby and possibly looking up to you. It does appear that a simple reflection question is setting you off, but I would not label you as fragile person that only expects positive praises in our permanent yet slowly expiring life. Calling anyone fragile without being in their shoes would be insensitive. That being said, if your rebuttal is about mental strength in dealing with negative speech, then it is worthwhile to consider the contagious natural of that negativity (as proven by the tone of my question and your reaction experiment). The same idea "don't give up on looming if that's what you love" versus "when people insult you for looming …" sets a different tone. It is up to you strong person to choose between getting defensive or having a food for thought moment. Keep up your good work.
