hello!! i made this loonaverse iceberg a couple weeks ago and since it reached mild popularity on twitter and reddit i decided to make a video explaining each layer :]
if there's anything i missed (which is surely a lot) feel free to leave a comment with your own thoughts! I'll be commenting with some things I forgot to put in the iceberg itself as well.

I'VE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS ONE ! .About Yeojin's animal being a bear. I have a theory about why they could have changed it. IDK if it's a well known thing in other countries (i'm french) but there's a thing called a "pedo-bear". Which is mostly a meme. But in "kiss later" if the actor had a bear mask on, it could have been controversial considering Yeojin's age and the meaning of the song...

Some more notes: choerry's color, purple, is the combination of Kim lips and jinsouls color The oec girls have representative super powers: kim lip has super speed, jinsoul has teleportation and choerry has interdimensional travel Haseul's video clip is also a biblical allegory. There used to be an incredibly long comment under a theory video that is now deleted, that laid out all the details Also, Vivi's color fits better with the xxyx girls than the 1/3 girls The girls sleeping and waking up is also a theme in the loonaverse, which is interesting since Kim lip constantly complains about not being able to sleep There are a couple of girls that could be the villain. My bet is on Yves: the first one to leave Eden and leave Olivia hey behind, the claw machine, possibly "corrupting" Kim lip and Yeojin, giving the apples (symboling rebellion) to choerry and vivi, ...) Gowon and Yeojin are both princesses and have similar settings (the blue corridor, the kitchen, getting a crown ...) haseul's and choerry's storylines are possibly parallels. The yellow car, both of them waking up, both of them having an "alter ego", choerry's crystal earrings were the same ones as the crystals haseul picked up, the paper plane in both music videos, ...

*NOTE:* there are a couple editing mistakes throughout, none of them were big enough to warrant a reupload but they're still annoying so please ignore them 😓 An intersting addition to the Around You theory: There are two books on Hyunjin's table that have to do with death (unfortunately the name of the third one is impossible to read). One is "Your Genes and Your Destiny: A New Look at a Longer Life" which is about the scientific misconceptions surrounding life-shortening diseases. The other is "The Auk, the Dodo and the Oryx: Vanished and Vanishing Creatures", a record of extinct and endangered animal species. Honestly, the more I look into this theory the more plausible it becomes.

Ahh the shapes. They also represent square (1/3 and Yeojin), circles (Odd Eye) and Triangles (yyxy). It's on the BogoshiBong and I think are solid, liquid and gas respectively. There's also the WW2 theories as well but this is so good. I'm pretty sure the reason why Kim Lip was first was that she didn't feel like she could rap well. Her's is also the weirdest in where she has no real cameos from anyone else in her video eventhough in Loona TV most of the girls were on set with her. Haseul being a Phoenix makes so much sense with how shifty they were about specifically *what* kind of bird and why she would be considered the Leader of the group. The plot it thickens 🧐

to make the choerry and hyunjin theory make more sense, here are some more important bits: after hyunjin left OEC for what fans assume is to be with Heejin and the other 1/3 girls, Kim Lip and Jinsoul search for a replacement. In the Sweet Crazy Love mv, Kim Lip is seen in an alleyway and a tram/bus goes by with Choerry on it, and Kim Lip feels an instant connection. She runs to tell Jinsoul, and Jinsoul kidnaps Cheorry. To complete this theory even more, Kim Lips colour (Red) and Jinsouls colour (Blue) create purple when merged together. They found their purple.

also maybe you could connect it to the around you theory. maybe she wrote those notes to kim lip and jinsoul because she was leaving OEC and maybe she lost one of her 9 lives because she wanted to go to earth and it was the only way to do so without a fruit... i'm not so sure if this makes sense

Hyunjin was depressed in Around You because (when she was originally in oec) she missed Heejin so she had Gowon send her back to earth and then she didn't have powers or her color and she still couldn't find Heejin so she was like "kms" and then Heejin found her for I'll be there and showed her around so she could get her color back

This is amazing. I consider myself a loonaverse enthusiast just like any other orbits and have heard most of the popular theories. But I didn't know there was more digging left. I have always questioned myself as to what yyxy's repackage album name could be, but I didn't know there was an original name. The hyunjin cat lives was something I have never heard of even from popular theorist. There really is no "enough" learning about the loonaverse. Although I still have to ask, why in the world Olivia's debut got delayed or something? Is it just a marketing decision they did to anticipate her solo? Or does it have something to do with an original song getting scrapped? As I just discovered recently, almost all the debut solo songs from Heejin to Gowon have been produced by MonoTree. But somehow, MonoTree didn't do Olivia's? MonoTree has become a key to solidifying the loona sound. Even if they didn't make Olivia's song, it sounded like loona. Is it possible for BBC and MonoTree to have conflict that made it impossible for Olivia to debut with a MonoTree song that's why her's got delayed? OR The song in yyxy teaser "hamkke" was the tidbits left from the original song for Olivia Hye?

BBC is definitely no stranger to making last-minute decisions, I remember reading about how Eclipse was extremely rushed in both writing and production because they decided to scrap another song (could also have to do with Kim Lip's debut order changing) so I think it's entirely possible that something similar happened with Olivia's that caused the delay!

About the plane crash theory, I think there has been development specially on the "New Moon" teaser video where we can see Chuu watching the plane fall from the sky. I mean it's interesting because Chuu has always been Haseul's mirror who was the first girl associated with the plane. Also the end of the "New Moon" teaser hinted at Haseul's return on PTT. Also, this is a perfect video, thanks for all your hard work :)

One thing I’ve never seen anyone touch on is the east of eden line in PTT. I’ve done some research and found out that to the east of eden is actually the land of Nod. The land of Nod represents a land where we travel to when we fall asleep, but also a land of exile.

I think that what Loona 1/3's locations are where they fell from Eden and Yeojin feel from the garden from Eden but it lost in another world, by trying to get from Eden to go to earth, she fell somewhere else. Or Yeojin is stuck in a forest, which is controlled by the masters of Eden as a punishment and the other girls struggle and try to find her, like have a battle with the masters of Eden. Or, she is lost in a place where everyone has to find her. Also with the theory of Heejin being the creator/God of the Lonnaverse, she did this as a task for the other members and she does it to try and find the loyalty the members have. That's what I thought.

I think that Eden is controlled by its masters, which is a group of people who originally were created by Heejin (she is God) but when given free will, they went against her and didn't want to live in a society of free will or choices, so they went out and separated themselves on an unclaimed area, created by Heejin to fill up space, but they use it to control the people they managed to take from Heejin. The 11 girls (not including Heejin) roited against her and tried to escape multiple times, and YeoJin was the one who started the riot and she was punished by the masters of Eden and placed somewhere remote by the Masters of Eden. As soon as this happened, the girls escape, with Heejin coming into human form, and, finally, all 12 girls are on a task to find Yeojin and try to get together and beat the Masters of Eden.

i don't know anything about jaden jeong but no doubt he was creative, just after butterfly cb loona's production went downhill. honestly their lore is what captivated me the most, but since then we were left with almost nothing.... every kpop group has catchy songs and high production mvs but no group has as much theories, easter eggs and deep pre production in their mvs as loona did. i wonder if his departure had something to do with bbc's shitty administration and exploitation or if it was something about his controversial side.

Okay new dark iceberg theory I just brain blasted coming up: what if the odd eye circle girls are human experiments? This kinda runs along with the theory that vivi had/has an odd eye but it doesn't necessarily have to. I was thinking about the blood and optometrist equipment shots in Sweet Crazy Love, specifically with Jinsoul. She uniquely has the eye patch, which she's seen with at the end of the "letter to Hong Kong" video. NOW at the end of the Eclipse MV's description as you said, it says that Jinsoul was trying to escape a "basement in Hong Kong". What if she was being experimented on in that basement and was implanted with an odd eye? It would definitely explain that imagery in the swc music video. Now of course the specificity of Hong Kong obviously connects Vivi to whatever happened to Jinsoul and lends credence to the fact that Vivi may have indeed originally come from the oec universe. It would also explain her android origins too if perhaps she was another odd eye girl who was experimented on. Perhaps when she escaped to earth and 1/3, she helped free Jinsoul from the basement, and that's why Jinsoul is seen in "letter to Hong Kong", presumably before she meets oec. Also knowing that Kim Lip, Jinsoul, and Choerry's videos happen from their perspectives before meeting any of the other girls of the unit, it's interesting that Jinsoul's video is a lot of this dark, nondescript area. Seeing as the basement was mentioned in Kim Lip's video before Jinsoul debuted, I don't see why Jinsoul's video couldn't be a representation of that but maybe that's a stretch (but also it would make sense if the fish tanks in Singing in the Rain are representations of the fish tanks in the letter to Hong Kong video). There's probably stuff that im missing but I feel like I have to put this out here even if this is 1 year old, I've never had a LOONA lore brain moment like this before I hope someone else understands my jibbering. Also maybe a non sequitur but I feel like Yves being so involved in oec universe (claw machine colors, the 4 vs. 3 apples, the Starlight mv) and then also Vivi makes more sense if it's literally oec Vivi. Hmmmmm much to think about.

Although Heejin being the "god" of the loonaverse is a super popular theory, I think it doesn't make any sense (along with other widespread theories that are baseless and make no sense such as the "villain" of the loonaverse - there is none - or Olivia /Yves killing Vivi)

To put it briefly, the loonaverse teaches a lesson about self love, woman empowerment, and breaking free of societal standards. It would not make any sense to make anyone a villain because it simply defeats the purpose of the story.

The nostalgia... one day I really hope JJ or someone at BBC leaks all the notes, spreadsheets, whatever, to clear up many of the questions I have about the lore. There's got to be some actual plan for all of it somewhere. The ARG idea isn't something I ever really paid attention to before, but with how JJ's managing tripleS I wonder if maybe there was actually some element of that. And re: LGBTQ themes especially in predebut era, I know Heart Attack was a big deal and I definitely agree about Let Me In, but one of my first comments in the Rabbit stream party chat when New premiered was that it felt like a coming-out song.
