This movie influenced me. I was 17 when it came out. Two years later I became a radical activist and did it for 30 years. We tackled weed legalization and climate change. I never payed taxes, instead I chose to keep my income below poverty level so as not to pay for their wars and fossil fuels. True story. No regrets. I volunteered my time to causes that resist the capitalist consumption of my planet. I highly recommend it.

I find it disturbing that the "Obey" fashion line is so widely worn by younger people without knowing where it came from and is even scarier because it can be a blind willingness for them to advertise their own personal acceptance of "the reality" that has been presented to them. Watching this movie late one night on cable back in 1997 having never heard of it before and catching it on the opening credits without knowing what I was about to see was one of the greatest movie experiences of my entire life. Going down the rabbit hole with "Nada" and finding out that aliens were running the world was so super cool. The only other movie experience that was equal to this was watching The Matrix the first time in theaters when no one had any idea what that movie was about. For anyone who has not seen this movie for themselves it has just been ruined for you.
