Burton's film should've been called "Return To Wonderland". Pretty terrible movie, except for Helena Bonham Carter as the queen.

Queen of Hearts not Red Queen. Though perfectly understandable mistake. Most film and live versions combine the two.

I always thought that Alice’s adventure was really just an entire dream. (After getting off the tree with Dina, she sits down and falls asleep, listening to her sister reading a book. The whole laying in flowers, laying by the water/singing and seeing and following the white rabbit & falling down the rabbit hole scenes didn’t really happen.) [at the end of the movie, we see Alice sleeping, and Alice desperately trying to ‘wake herself up’ - “Alice, wake up! Please wake up, Alice! Alice! Please wake up, Alice! Alice! Alice! Alice!”

@@COLE_PRODUCTIONS - Yeah, they existed in the 80's, Atari, Sega. But you didn't want to play it all day every day. We still wanted to play basketball and football, and other things. There were pretty girls to chase after, and friends to hang with, and sometimes your parents simply threw you out of the house (not physically...just told us to get the hell outside, and not always pretty). While Atari games were fun back then, they just didn't mentally MINDWARP us like the games do today, at least not to the same extent. After a stretch, they did get a LITTLE boring, and repetitive. That, and you didn't have that many options. Pac-Man, Pong, Space Invaders, Football/Baseball...all flat and one dimensional. You weren't necessarily wowed by the graphics, but the face that you could control something playing on your TV. It took a while for the consoles to look cool. The Atari 5200 and Sega Genesis had better graphics than the 2600. Then here comes Nintendo in the mid to late 80's. When it's a gorgeous 81 degrees, and you're 10-12 years old in the 80's, half the time we didn't want to be stuck inside anyway, hanging around 'grown folks'. Also, there was only one, MAAAAAYBE two TV's in the house. One in your living room, and one in your parents' room. In the households with one TV, well, mom's gotta watch her 'stories', i.e. soap operas, or game shows. The second TV, if you had one, didn't have the game console on it...only the living room TV. The window to even play games wasn't 24 hours, but maybe 2-3 hours, at best. easier

As someone who's read both Alice books dozens of times, I've often wondered just how many of the characters are meant to be Lewis Carroll himself. I figure the Cheshire Cat definitely, and the Caterpillar, perhaps the White Rabbit, and the White Knight in "Through the Looking Glass". I'm less certain about characters like the Mock Turtle.

In Carroll's original book, the last few stanzas work as an acrostic, meaning that the first letter of each line eventually spells out a word or name-- in this case, the full name of the girl who inspired the story, Alice Pleasance Liddell.

"...should never have..." If you're going to criticize an author's work, you should at least use the correct wording.
