I actually think Margaery is ranked far too low on this list. She was a fan favorite character ( certainly my favorite) and it certainly hurt to see her go, but her storyline came to its natural conclusion. Her arc was entirely to serve as a foil for Cersei and as her competitor for influence over Cersei’s children, which she did perfectly. But when you play the game of thrones, you win or you die, and there was no way both her and Cersei could remain in competition forever. At the time of her death, both were on the cusp of achieving victory over the other, Margaery by having Cersei tried and stripped of her power and Cersei by...ya know...blowing up the Sept. It was a do or die situation for both of them, but just because Cersei was the victor doesn’t mean Margaery’s story didn’t end satisfactorily.

IMO, i don't think how the show ended is the problem, it's how quickly it happened. In a show built on characterization where you grow to love characters through their quirks and funny musings that happen while traveling to places, the speed of the last two seasons doesn't match the pace set previously by the show. People are literally teleporting around and everything is just too rushed. The last two seasons could've easily been spread out over 3-4.
@nickolausafon54584 жыл бұрын
... The show revealed characters we love can have great stories and still die suddenly or miserably. It was the whole lesson on the story. And we shouldn’t expect different for the end. It died as it went, no surprise. Why did so many hold such false expectations!?

Bran becoming king would be ridiculous either way. Jon's end made no sense either, Drogon should've grilled him and if that didn't happen, he should've been king. And if they absolutely HAD to exile him, they should've done the same with Tyrion.
@MotRekrab13473 жыл бұрын
@@nickolausafon5458 I don't think anyone would have minded if the characters died. As you say, the show goes out of its way to demonstrate how, at any time, these stories can be cut short. The issue I and a lot of others have is that this style of storytelling, the kind the show was built on, ended up getting replaced in a way that intelligence was replaced with plot armour and teleporters. The show could easily have gone on at least a few more seasons (in my mind, the Long Night should have _been_ a full season!), but D&D, in an effort to 'wrap things up' and move onto their Star Wars project (which got scrapped anyway), decided to end it in the least satisfying way possible. Seriously, it's like they just fast-forwarded through so much of the story (Dany's descent into madness) or just decided to shuffle characters around to make things go faster or to 'divert expectations' (Arya killing the Night King)

I am pretty sure that after the battle of the bastards the writers sat down, looked at eachother and went “now what?”. They lead the story to a place where it was impossible to craft out a good ending in 2 seasons. They had been hyping up Dany, the night king and Cersei for 6 seasons, and if it took 6 seasons to hype them up it couldn’t have possibly ended in 2 seasons.

If you really believe that Daenerys' descent into madness was sudden then you missed all the smaller details through the seasons that gave it away, and if Jon were there the whole time then it wouldn't have taken him so long to see it. Tyrion & Varrys see it sooner because they'd been studying human behavior their whole lives.

@@xpertrex5991 I agree with @jason rowlette, some of the things she did even if they were done to bad people showed that she was cruel. she was obsessed with getting the iron throne even know she was a baby when she lost it. she had so much power and love in Marine where she should of stayed. The hate she received in Westeros’s and the jealousy she had towards John pushed her over the edge even before kings landing and considering she lost everyone she really loved prior to the flight in kings landing. So in’s saying she didn’t go mad out of no where, It was build up over time, you just have to look deeper at the things she did in previous seasons. A good example was when she crucified all the wealthy in one of the city’s to prove a point to show no mercy, that’s in season 4 or 5 I’m pretty sure.

Ending Best to Worst: 1. Ramsey Bolton - Superb character work and fitting ending. 2. Hodor - Really good work and good end. 3. Margaery Tyrell - Made sense for the story as a whole and done great job. 4. Olenna Tyrell - Great character that died the right way. 5. Brienne of Tarth - One character arc that was well respected and a fitting end. 6. Samwell Tarley - Same as Brienne, fitting end for a character. 7. Missandei - Good end that would have paid off if the build was slower and better. 8. Theon Greyjoy - Good redemption arc and fitting end but The Night King story ended poorly. 9. Jorah Mormont - Same as Theon, ending made sense but the story was poor. 10. Tormund Giantsbane - Good character and his survival did make sense. 11. The Hound - The epic ending weren't too bad but think it could have been better. 12. Sansa Stark - Taking the North for herself did make some sense and did go inline with the character growth. 13. Littlefinger - Needed to die but just didn't seem to really do the character justice. 14. Arya Stark - Riding into the next journey did make sense but character build up over last few seasons was bad. 15. Bran Stark - Did actually make sense becoming King but rather than letting the story take you there it was just thrust upon you. 16. Daenerys - Same as Bran, story did make sense but but not enough build up so it was executed terribly. 17. Jon Snow - Story arc just ended so poorly and before that was really bad. 18. Tyrion Lannister - Story was awful after killing his father and ending just felt bad. 19. Cersei Lannister - Deserved to die but ending made absolutely no sense. 20. The Night King - God awful, massive missed opportunity after all that build up. 21. Jamie Lannister - After all the great character build and his arc his ending felt lazy and downright disgusting. 22. Varys - The worst end, was an incredibly complex character that was treated like an after thought.

Missandei’s death was just stupid and the total waste of life that Cersei would have never done. She was smarter than than throughout the series, always using any information on her best advantage. We’re not told how she learned that Missandei was Dany’s closest friend and advisor and we don’t know if she knew Missandei was also her top general’s significant other? If she did, then her order was even dumber. If she had Missandei there on the balcony she stood on for the last three seasons, she would have known that she was safe from Dany’s attack. We saw how smart and diabolical Cersei used the information about the wildfire beneath King’s Landing.

You relapse!
