Hi! today is the 7th day of my braces and I noticed that my lower lateral incisor is mildly shaking, i am a bit nervous and conscious with that woobly tooth. is it normal? and what should i do?

Rest assured that some mobility is normal during orthodontic movement, especially on the lower incisors. Please point it out to your treating provider so that they can monitor and check your teeth.

By visiting your general dentist every six months, you are doing your part to maintain the health and longevity of your teeth. General dentists will take X-rays and do clinical exams as needed. Your orthodontist is also a dentist, with additional training in orthodontics. They will also be on the lookout for any potential problems.

I have done treatment for Bimaxillary Protrusion using fixed orthodontic treatment for 4.5 yrs.During the treatment, I felt some pain and mobility in lower anteriors and thought it is normal during the movement of teeth.Recently, my braces are removed 1.5 months back, My lower anteriors are still in mobile condition and my dentist said it will be normal in 1 month. In OPG, Mild bone loss is there. Is this condition can become normal in few months?

Great question. Some lower incisor mobility can take up to a year to stabilize. It depends on your periodontal health. This video helps to explain how teeth move biologically: kzbin.info/www/bejne/mmqcYo1of7SbfM0

@TrayMinder3 жыл бұрын
You wouldn’t know unless it’s significant. Unusually less than 0.5 mm is fine. Class 2 mobility is more than 1 mm of movement and that’s cause to slow things down.

@TrayMinder3 жыл бұрын
Teeth start to move within the first 3 days of starting treatment. Some minor mobility is fine and normal but not excessive mobility. Only a clinical exam with your doctor can tell you which is which.

Can osteoblast (bone rebuilding) phase correct minor bone loss around teeth? And if so, what things could we do to increase chances of that happening? Thanks.

Interesting question. New bone formation can be brought forth by moving teeth. It usually involves multidisciplinary team approach between ortho, perio, and general dentist. Here’s an example: www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC5343651/

Very informative, thank you! You mentioned potential tooth loss, and I have seen other videos/posts about this terrifying prospect (usually from off brand aligners). I have noticed that people mentioned experiencing more pain than usual when that happened. What would say would be an acceptable amount of orthodontic pain during treatment, and what would be a sign that something bad was afoot?

I was being dumb and purposely loosened my perfectly healthy tooth and it now has a little wiggle to it and was wondering if it will tighten back up fully if I leave it alone. I find myself wiggling it once in awhile.
@TrayMinder2 жыл бұрын
Healthy teeth without periodontal conditions do tighten up with time, usually a few weeks to 3-4 months. Be sure to check with your dentist if it doesn't. Reminder: My content is not intended to diagnose, treat, or provide dental advice. @robeswin2 жыл бұрын
Okay I won’t ask you anything more after this last question sorry. Is it possible for it to not be able to tighten up if I’m fidgeting with it like every 2 or 3 days by moving it a little then when I bite down there is like a clicking feeling. Wondering if the ligaments wouldn’t be able to heal back up or something of that nature… it barely moves but there is some play in it…

I fix my braces 😬 10 days ago but before that my orthodontist told me my bone 🦴 are wick and it's takes two chances. It might work and might not work. And I might end up loosing my teeth. Since he gave me choices I took the risk, he said after one month before he will know if to continue with the brace or not. I hope it's works and my braces don't hurt at all and am worried about that. This is something I wanted badly for my whole life, now I got the money to fix and it's end up in choices very sad 🥺 but I believe it will work.
