Loose triple gear

When the transmission suffered a broken drum I opened it up and found this wobbly gear as well.

That can be fixed if it isn’t wallowed out to far. You remove the pin and press in an oversized pin. If this is already an oversized pin or if the hole for the pin is too badly damaged then your flywheel will need to be replaced. After that check the triple gears onto your pins for correct clearance (.005”). If they are too tight then ream them to .005”. If they are too loose then replace the bushings. I am doing mine right now. No one has oversized pins right now... blamed on Covid-19! I ended up swapping to another flywheel with good pins. Now am setting magnets. My loose pin broke a tooth out of a triple gear and caused the brake and low drum shafts to break. Have to replace the clutch drum also, but that wasn’t due to the pin problem. Years of collecting parts have now been paid for with this one job! Spent cash on triple gear bushings and clutch drum shoes though. Yours looks like a simple pin problem, if you can’t get the pins you can grind them out of drill rod (.750”) or have a machine shop do that... or just get another antique flywheel like I did! Remember the hole deformation in the flywheel may cause the oversized pin to go in slightly out of position, so be careful!
