Bake Off’s Laura Adlington has opened up about initially struggling to get her foot on the career ladder, which she puts down to her weight. She feels that there is a ‘plus-size glass ceiling’ which holds back larger women from achieving their potential and fulfilling their dreams. A recent survey found that 21% of hiring managers described the largest employees as ‘lazy and unprofessional’, which shows that prejudice is definitely still there. Sue thinks that society seems to have more sympathy for those suffering from disorders like anorexia, and that in a lot of cases being overweight needs to be taken seriously.

As a guy, I feel I have had this, been for interviews and not got the job even though I am very experienced for the positions I interviewed for, found it a bit easier when I lost weight.

Having more support with weight loss and healthy eating and emotional eating would help people. If it was more affordable and easier to access. Alot of gyms and trainers make it so expensive to access. Diets can be expensive to follow as well with all the healthy food. People turn to junk food, as a comfort and help with emotional pain. Sometimes people's genetics play a part. They moan if your too skinny they moan if you are larger in size you can't win, always judged.

The flip side of this is ... if an overweight person dramatically loses weight and we DON'T comment, that would upset them too, surely? Just ask Sue ...

Go on the keto eating you will never put weight again Keto is a life change Well worth it i have been on it since 2019 as well as not gaining weight few of my health issues cleared up within a year

Been a bit disillusioned on that. I have been following Dr Fung's Fasting & Keto Facebook page. So many are keto but I have recently seen alot of the old regulars reappearing saying they are back at square 1. Some of them the fourth of fifth time of starting again. This contradicts what I thought, that if you do keto and fasting it doesn't reduce your metabolism so you don't go back to square one. Thought it was also easier to make it your normal new way of life. Now I am not sure it is the miracle it sounded. I did it a few years back and was successful for one summer but when the cold weather came in I got so freezing cold from that way of life which made the pain i feel from my medical conditions so much worse and not being able to afford too much heating it had to stop. Not so sure it's not just the latest fad now. Sad as I thought that was the miracle. Seems for alot of others, a few years down, it wasn't after all.

The notion of body diversity can contribute a constructive part to society only when it is based on human healthy development, and obesity is obviously not any healthy physical condition for any human to be considered as human healthy physical development, and thus it should not be misunderstood as a part of the notion of diversity You guys should be aware of the difference between political or ideological diversity and constructive diversity

Can't win we all look better with less weight on I have muscle pain now so can't run like I did went to food as fed up so ofcouse I put on and then down cause size 10 jeans don't fit it is a constant battel it is also what we eat I know this. But joined slimming world so hoping that will get me slimmer again as planning what I'm eating .
