Anyone ever notice the girl who chases the cucco in Hyrule Castle Town. She will take a short break from running for a couple of seconds and you are able to talk to her. If you put on a mask, she will stop chasing the cucco and just jump up and down in place and you are able to talk to her. Once you take the mask off she goes back to running. I'm sure there are people who have never paid attention to that.

@@JTKroll12 That's something that kind of pissed me off. Why can't I pick up specifically this cucco? What is preventing me from doing so? No other cucco in the game has this specific property, so this one cucco not being able to be grabbed is just strange.

I've had a few randomizer runs where I'll have the fans blow me into the corners of the other fans and then move when they're off.

Since the fans are on a timer you can just wait it out then either run, roll or sidehop down the corridor.

@@tails183 I've always known about using the boots to counter the fans and I've never not used them, but recently I did a randomizer where the boots were in the Gibdo room right past the fans. It was so rude lol

So the Redeads and Gibdos can't detect Link when he comes clomping up towards them with Iron Boots but they can hear him pull his sword? That just makes all the sense in the whole world, right there!

Ganondorf's cloak wearing down was super cool to see as a kid playing 64. I hadn't really seen many enemies change in appearance as their health runs down in those older gen games, so it was quite the novelty

@@jacktacmac8819 not all of them, like 2 or 3, and you take damage, but it's cool that you can. You can also shoot a light arrow while he's charging it, or you can do a spin attack to reflect them.

Regarding who was it that warned Link of Morpha, I actually only found that out like a year ago, I had always thought it was Navi. Also, to add, apparently, in the JP version, the message that warns you actually seemingly uses Ruto's mannerisms, further supporting it is actually her that warns you (where she was and why it only pops up as some disembodied voice is anyone's guess).

I can confirm. I have played the Japanese version, and being somewhat proficient in the language, that's exactly what happens. Her mannerisms, in particular ending sentences with 「ゾラ」"zora", is in that textbox.

@@HeroC14 I’d never thought of that, but it kinda makes sense, especially Daurunia, as we literally see him go in to fight Volvagia and he clearly loses as he’s not there. (Someone make an MM crossover where we can beat him as Goron Link). It also kinda fits with MM too, with the dead characters linked to the temples. The only snag is Saria. You can talk to her via the Ocarina still which suggests she’s alive?

​@@jonsmith5058 i think it's the same for all sages, everyone dies on some tragedy related to their temple; -saria used to spend her time in front of the forest temple, and is not dangerous while we are child, only native monsters from the forest populate the area, but when we go as an adult, it's full of moblins, wich are like the SS of Ganon Troops and slaves. -ruto goes tries to stop morpha and release the curse from the lake, but she clearly fails, as we don't find her later, just like darunia, and there's also that warning we recieve, wich could be spoken out of experience and from ruto herself. -We are told that impa went to the well to investigate the death of the phonogram man's son, but failed and mostlikely died inside. -and the last is nabooru, wich gets destroyed in front of our eyes, after she fails on killing us while being possesed inside the iron-knuckes armor.

I figured that Ruto was the one warning Link about the water in the Water Temple boss room. Also, if the guard who tosses the bomb at Link knows he's there, why didn't he alert the king or the other guards? Does he assume he's Princess Zelda?

I think it's safe to say that part was rather silly and meant to be more of a fun Easter egg rather than anything to overanalyze. I mean for one thing, he threw the bomb THROUGH glass without breaking it...

The amount of details in this game is incredible. How can anyone can call it overrated if there's so much stuff that's still being discovered to this day! Overrated isn't the same thing as "bad" though. Ocarina of Time is far from a bad game, but it's really old now. But in Ocarina of Time's defense, the PC port of the game is looking really cool especially in terms of modernizing the gameplay.

Gotta agree with the others in these replies. While there are a ton of details that went unnoticed, and despite the game being great, it's very old, and shows it's age. People calling it the "greatest game ever made" is a little disingenuous. It's definitely one of the most absolute important and impactful games ever made, but it's not the greatest. ReDeads and Gibdos applies in Majora’s Mask and Wind Waker when it comes to walking. It turns out they are blind, and can only know you are around if you are making noises such as running and attacking. I knew this years back. They cant really see you.

@@KalokesMysteries It's based on the game's run mechanics. You cannot run on land with the Iron Boots, therefore ReDeads and Gibdos' AI cannot detect you.

The only i didn't know was the Iron Boots; the backflip with bow is a 'necessary' skill to perform thr 'bombchu hover' glitch when you don't have Hover Boots or when used with Young Link .. awesome as always

4:29, it is written that we need to turn the eyes of the skull red, thanks to the bombs. Then the door will be opened. But in Mario 64, we also need to make the dead body looks red : if the Boo sees Mario, then an area will be revealed !

love these vids yo! I've been into zelda since i was a tiny little kid, playing the collector's edition disc on the gamecube. I've been into the gaming scene for so long, and most videos I see about "fun facts you probably didnt know about ocarina of time!" are neat for newcomers, but usually have info i learned through DYKG or other sources like ten years ago. but every single one of your videos is loaded with details that I've never known about in my 20 years of playing this game, and absolutely never would have learned on my own. keep up the good work!

I did not know that Light Arrows would give you 50 Rupees. But light arrows can only be acquired late in the game and they messed up Rupees by only letting you carry 500 instead of the usual 999 anyway. And while they're at it, they should just make it 9999 and give you more to buy, because it's just one more digit but would mean a lot to the player.
