Alan Michael Sugar, Baron Sugar is an English business magnate, media personality, and political advisor. According to the Sunday Times Rich List 2015, Sugar has joined the “billionaire’s club" with an estimated fortune of £1.4bn, and is ranked as the 101st richest person in the UK. Kind of a shame as getting an hour to interview Alan Sugar you'd think there is a lot more of interest than just The Apprentice, glad Alan picked up on this and changed the subject early on. The interviewer in this situation doesn't deserve to hold this interview his questions where dry and clearly did no research. To bring politics and Tinder into this Q&A is a bit embarrassing considering all the amazing topics you could go through.

@30:00 Please correct me if I am wrong… as I recall from an interview with Alan Sugar many years ago, his involvement with Sky TV was that he won the contract to build the satellite dishes. He managed to find a contractor that could make the metal dish at a very competitive rate… that contractor manufactured dustbin lids. Where there’s muck there’s money.

Stupid question about why apprentices only there for 2-3 years. Good bosses know if your best employees can do better outside, you have to let them go and they will never go to your competitors because they will be giving them the same opportunities (unless they become one by starting up themselves). No wealthy person/corporation pays the going tax rate. That's why they have accountants, barristers, and off-shore tax havens like Jersey -- where Sugar likes to fly his private jet. Can somebody help me out here? How does somebody who does not know the intricacies of Technologies circuit boards and software manage to build an household electronics/IT business. I would have thought you'd have to know your stuff and that's where college and university come in. I know that college and University are not the be all and end all and skills can be learnt on the street. Also I think it's a bluster to say that nobody owes you a living. When you are 16 the government owes you a living up until the age of say 24 in the absence of companies hiring you for an apprenticeship. Either further education College the government's new apprenticeships or university should be free so that you can gain skills in order to make your way in life. There are only one or two very lucky self-reliant exceptions to this. Sugar is one of them. The government and Society also I owe you a living if you hone all your skills that have been learnt in one industry like Steel, coal mining and in manufacturing. In order to get on in these Industries you must be full Hearted and work your way up the promotion ladder. If a factory is taken away by cheaper third world imports or foreign labour then somebody owes you a living as you have kept your side of the bargain to be reliable and hard-working. These employees have paid for the government in their taxes down the years and the government recruit supposedly top Talent in the form of economic development experts. It is their job to see that economic development and viable alternative sources of employment happen for they are paid handsomely for it.
