Extra Credits Ahh that's no fun, in fact that sounds like homework , homework just for extra credit. 😉 I feel James pain authors like Lewis Carroll, Tolkien and Lovecraft have beautiful editions of their works in print while most of Dunsany has fallen into public domain. Still no excuse for the oversight.

Not too surprising you wouldn't know of him; here's an interesting (but a bit abbreviated) quote from the Introduction to the book "The Ghost in the Corner and Other Stories" which is a collection of some Dunsany short stories: "Another major theme in the stories of this book is Dunsany's conflicted view of Ireland and his fellow Irishmen. In spite of the fact that he wrote several poignant novels about Ireland [...] he was long looked upon with suspicion by his fellow countrymen [...]. Dunsany himself remained definitely Anglo-Irish and was opposed to the cause of Irish independence. [...] As a result, Dunsany's tales of Ireland and Irish life, almost always comical and satirical, do not shy away from tartness and pungency. [...] It is not surprising that Irish readers and critics long felt the need to write Dunsany out of the literary history of Ireland; but with the passing of time and because of the high regard that Dunsany continues to claim in fantasy literature, Irish prejudice against him seems finally to be on the wane.

Oh in that case it's because very few care about the author as they do about his works. Do you know any biographies that top the fiction of the author? It's the same with documentaries. It's not fun to look at people explaining things as it is to see them doing things.
@NimhLabs6 жыл бұрын
Because it would likely be directed by Micheal Bay and have Lord Dunsany be played by Megan Fox. We are lucky that Hollywood has not taken notice of this bastion of literary works. If they did--our best case scenario would be to hope that the standard cliche festival Hollywood films are, would have Lord Dunsany be played by Vin Diesel.
