I tell a lot of friends and family about this band and I have yet to find a one who is as moved by Lord Huron's music as I am. I started to think that maybe I am going crazy and then I read the comments below of so many people who love this band like I do. It's like heroine (haven't tried it but you get my drift) to me. It's like sailing; the first time out on a boat, I was hooked. I share my passion for sailing with others but few get it. I think they are all nuts, but then again, maybe the great novelties of this life aren't to be shared with everyone. Maybe certain things touch us so deeply because that is how we were created and it's, frankly, what makes us unique. Lonesome Dreams is my absolute favorite album ever...

This was my soundtrack in my headphones while I walked along the Monterey warf early early in the morning, with the cool air blowing in and nothing but faint lights to see where I was walking. Even now, I can feel that moment of a cold beach, and every time I introduce this album to someone, I tell them it's like listening to the moment of being on a cold beach pondering life.

I live in Seattle and during Jan/Feb, I start to lose my mind because we don't see the sun for weeks.. I took a trip to Vegas last week and went hiking in the Valley of Fire State Park under blue skies and 90 degrees. Listening to Lonesome Dreams while solo hiking through 150 million year old rock was a beautiful moment. I'll never be able to explain in words what Lord Huron's music does to me, but it gives me an incredible feeling, especially when exploring the world! Thanks for sharing your creativity with the world!

jamiesomersuk It sounds like a blend between soft-rock of the 70s (bands like Bread) mixed with shoe-gaze and a touch of "The Postal Service". It sounds good, but it is hardly innovative, in my personal opinion; I have heard similar bands do a sound like this. praise on this one, would be the lyrics; which are constructed and executed masterfully.. It is similar to Owl City, but without the terrible lyrics, and with IMO better composition.

If I remember correctly, the lead vocalist grew up outside of Lansing mi... It clearly shows in their work and it is almost like a gift to us fans in Michigan... Thanks!

I've heard most of Lord Huron's music over the last few years but I can't believe I just heard their first album, and specifically, this song. This first album is just awe inspiring. Fantastic work.
