But with Godfrey in the mix he just does too much. He's great in a one on one interview. But in a 3 person set up Godfrey's comedy gets in the way. Plus, Vlad cuts them off too much. He could fall back a little. Let the artist talk. If you want to say he's not the most lyrical MC to ever come out then fine. But to ignore that man's contribution 2 Hip Hop just isn't right. Hammer employed hundreds of people from his hood and did a lot for his community. How many people has Lord Jamar employed? After hammer damn near every rapper took that man's blueprint when it came to marketing and promotion. Huge Brand Nubian fan but I just can't be on the hate Hammer bandwagon.
@desalineredux4356 жыл бұрын
KLR Allday he’s talking from the perspective of the early 90s. I respect Hammers contribution now in my 40s but back then I was part of the hate Hammer band wagon. Preaching to Choir!! Going back and doing research...the Hammer hate then and now is just out of hand. Hammer had it all. @@guysimmons4305 I'm trying to recall who was before Hammer. Remember, this is mid-80s. Nobody thought rap was gonna last. There was not a Grammy category for rap. But Hammer was able get a Pepsi endorsement, a syndicated cartoon, and cereal in his name. He made 20 million in the 80s!! That's why people called him a sell-out because rap was meant for the "underground." No rapper did this at the time. Pop audiences (mainstream) went to Hammer because he showed that rap wasn't "dangerous." Before then, rap was considered dangerous and not real music. If Public Enemy was Malcolm X. that's why i say MC Hammer started Crunk Rap. It was odd and 20 years ahead of its time so the sound wasn't there at the time and it flowed more into the pop scene.

People forget that MC Hammer is from Oakland, California and he is from the hood but other people thought he was soft because he had commercial hits on the radio. And on a side note I have a you tube channel type in Russell Mills May 22, 2017.
