@cyranojohnson87713 жыл бұрын
The reason I believe Serch's story and not Hammer's denials is because this story isn't about bigging himself up. It doesn't make him look "hard" or awesome or anything like that. It's just a dude trying to come to terms with some traumatic shit. By contrast, Hammer trying to play it off as Serch making it a "claim to fame," paired with Hammer making false claims about how much this group or that did or didn't sell, all really just comes off as gaslighting. Serch never claimed to be in the same league as Hammer sales-wise and anybody who knows hip-hop of that era knows, nevertheless, how important Third Bass were (both of their albums were, BTW, certified gold) and what Serch went on to do behind the scenes afterward. So his bullshit about how "his groups sold more records than that cat" is pretty transparent. Like, no disrespect to Oaktown's 357 or anything but... no. Just no.

Hammer was crossover and real MC’s felt some type of way. Back then, Hammer had a cartoon, cereal, and middle aged white people feeling him. That wasn’t the definition of Hip Hop back then so real Hip Hop heads weren’t feeling Hammer. Hammer actually paved the way for everything that commercial rappers have today...too bad it took 30 years for a lot of us to realize it.

If anything. The Rap founder is Coke la Rock. Run dmc got grief for it though. So did LL with puma. A lot told them support black brands. Like L.A. tech, British knight, Damage. I dont get the beef, but I think it was about jealousy, its is wrong to word play on someone mother you don't know, only in this guy head it was a beef between them,. @@TheRealCardz @R.L. Barnes did a quick explanation but I wanted to extend his original post a little! A record in this context is 1 release of some sort. If we would've spoken the language of the record labels it'd probably be; Single: 1 track release (sometimes with an extra track > remix etc) EP: Extended Play - Minimum 3 tracks up to maximum of 6 tracks. Album: Basically if your 'collection' of tracks are more than 6 then it's ranked as an 'album'. It was different before digital media was a thing but that's the easiest way to see it. CD, Vinyl and Tape are all analog storage units. MP3, WAV, FLAC, OGG, mp4 etc etc are all digital formats. All of those above can be referred to as a 'record' lol.

First of all, 3rd base started the beef & didn't know they was fuckin with a real ass street nigga!! They judged a book by it's cover & thought hammer was like those soft ass NY rappers who aint bout that life!!! Second of all Serch aint & never was a gangsta so he aint on no on sight shit. He would fuck around & run if he ran into hammer or yell while he's standing behind security like alot of pussies do.
@Photomeike6 жыл бұрын
@@geraldjohnson9352 depends on the diss and the context. Ya'll act like they had real street beef or something. The line won't even that serious. But I can see if Hammer wanted to fight the dude. But to kill someone especially when they won't even doing numbers like that. It's sound cloud rappers doin better than them. You could look at them and tell they won't bout that life.
@Photomeike6 жыл бұрын
@@Eiam76 this ain't the streets. this the music industry bruh. This was rap beef. Not street beef. Two totally different things.
@Eiam766 жыл бұрын
@@Photomeike Streets or no streets if you diss somebody you don't know on some disrespectful shit don't be surprised if a mafucka take it to where you think it shouldn't go! Period!!! Some people are just cut from a different cloth & Hammer just happened to be one of them. You talk that tough shit to the wrong person there can be consequences & repercussions, a lesson that Serch obviously learned from the experience & situation! & as far as you saying it was a rap beef not a street beef, we all know that but obviously Hammer wanted to take it to the streets as you can see by listening to this interview! Like I said, ("different cloth").. Everybody ain't with being disrespected. Especially when you come from a place where people get killed over it!! People handle shit differently bruh. Aint no right or wrong way to handle disrespect. You just handle it how you handle it. To some it ain't that serious, to others it is homeboy.
