Bro it’s not cuz he’s an “old head”. I’m 26, love rap, and I find Kendrick’s VOICE increasingly more annoying every album. Same if you love Iron Maiden for the vocals, you’re probably not gonna go listen to Cannibal Corpse.. the vocals are completely different but the genre is still “Metal”. Get it ? If someone’s voice and delivery bugs you on any level you’re not gonna wanna hear it. Period. Plus, Kendrick’s voice is annoying and a blatant rip of Lil Wayne. He’s just another OKAY rapper at this point. Get off Jamar’s nuts!!

This reminds me of when Troy Ave and other folks who aren’t well versed on the actual discography say Kendricks music is ‘Backpack/Conscious Rap’. The music will always speak for itself. He raps about the Good, bad and the ugly. All human levels. Not majority fake tough ish. What do we as a culture look at as ‘Gangsta’ is the real question? 🤔🤔🤔

Lord, it's hate because you didn't do the knowledge. K dot is really from that. @djwillpowerws20 күн бұрын
@@StealfromRich …but now you just spoke in error to form a critical opinion of me, that you didn’t even form from my word against idolizing a man. “It seems like” you’re the pot calling the kettle a hypocrite. Trolling for what? His support of Trump is an entirely different subject. It has nothing to do with whether or not GNX is a good project or not. The man just said he doesn’t listen to Kendrick because he doesn’t like the sound of his voice, and then he shared his impression of Kendrick’s persona based on what he’s heard. Not doing extensive research on an artist you don’t even like is not failure to do the knowledge. You can be Black and from Compton and not be THAT (gangster), the same way you can be Black from a housing project in New York and not be THAT (criminal). Lord Jamar’s POV doesn’t make him a Kendrick hater. He already said that he wasn’t. You might not like someone. It doesn’t mean you hate them.

@@StealfromRich I do happen to agree with the part about his description of what’s real. Lord Jamar has a lot contradictions in his word lately. You’re right about that. The flat earth support is just wild. Then, he just went through so much to represent the history of Black culture in Hip Hop, and to go from that to advocate a Republican for president, when that’s the party that’s banning books about Black History and the History of racism in America, and with Trump appointing Vivek Ramaswamy who said “Affirmative Action is the cancer on the soul of America” and trolled a Black women saying she wouldn’t have gone to an Ivy League school without affirmative action………..:it’s mind blowing that Lord Jamar would be in media as he is and isn’t connecting the dots. Also when you look at the all time greats in hip hop their voice is what makes them sooo dope, Nas, PAC, Big, jadakiss, jay, snoop etc… That’s their gift, just because you can rap doesn’t mean you’re meant to rap. @@TroyWurramara ok that’s great but to say my coast don’t fuck game is a stupid statement especially since the held the west down for a decade before Kendrick nip yg and all these cats hit the scene and so many dope mcs did music with diddy so who cares if he been around diddy that doesn’t discredit his resume or what he done for the west and hip hop

The new album definitely has songs I didn’t want to hear and once I got to a certain point, I didn’t wanna hear the rest of the album.
@gullzr541020 күн бұрын
I guess that’s just the way it is these days. Once upon a time we would let a project sit for a little while before jumping to conclusions. TikTok attention spans.
@djwillpowerws20 күн бұрын
@ Real good music blesses you with instant gratification. You don’t have to submit to an artist’s music against your first reaction to it. Sit on it for days for what? Sometimes a song can grow on you, but it’s not law that you must keep listening to some weak shit until you start liking it. That’s why there’s so many mediocre artists out there now.

It’s a dope album if you understand the context of what he’s rapping about and paying homage to.
@gullzr541018 күн бұрын
@@djwillpowerws I just meant, sometimes people are wrong. And let’s be real, it’s very common these days to see albums with 30 - 40 tracks. So for someone to say they got part way through a 12 song track list, it either means the album was basically trash or you are just wrong in this case. And judging by the overwhelmingly positive reviews, I’d tend to lean towards the latter. There was once a time when there was no such thing as the internet and most people pick a few albums a year to purchase. Sometimes you’d fall in love with a project immediately. Other times you’d have projects that initially fell flat, but you’d take a break, come back to it and realise that it was actually an amazing project. These days people are very quick to judge something, without giving it any opportunity to sink in. I did this with “to pimp a butterfly”. Then again, there is a portion of the population that just won’t be capable of comprehending what they consume. That being said, everyone is entitled to their own opinions …….. I just happen to disagree in this case.
