my teacher’s been using this audiobook in class because it is SUPERB, but after hearing this part today i knew i had to find it when i got home and comment about how much i actually love and appreciate it. i read this on my own a few years ago and re-reading it again now with these audios to accompany it really brings everything to life and i think everything has been captured perfectly. i actually don’t think i could read it again without thinking about this rendition! amazing job, i love it :)

Thank you for this!!! It's allowed me to 'read' along with my son's class and have conversations in the evenings. Finding connection with a 15 year old is hard but this helps a lot. thank you!

My son is leaning this in school and I am using this to understand it so that I can discuss it with him and what a great book to teach at school - it is so descriptive in scenery - it is like you are there too! The narration and sound effects are excellent! Thanks for putting this up on line for everyone to access

The Lord of the Flies soundin like the Ink Demon in the new game lol In all seriousness, I rlly relate to Simon, not with his times or hallucinating, but a lot of his mannerisms- lol

I have been using these Lord of the Flies audios for years as a teacher. I was halfway through Chapter 4 and they took the file down the same day :*( Is there any way you can repost chapter 4 and 5 so I can make a copy or can you email them to me??? Anything! They are the absolute best, I cant teach without them!

I don’t understand this part. Can someone explain?
@4give5ess7 ай бұрын
Roughly speaking, the pigs head serves as a screen onto which Simon projects his ego. The ego, which is the devil, is an hallucination. Simon is on the journey of a mystic, seeing through illusion to the truth. When Simon stumbles upon the rotting corps afterwards (the dead man hung up in the parachute) he makes the conection between what is projected and what is real. "The beast was harmless and horrible". Simon then wanted to tell the others the "good news", but he was crucified (killed) by the boys instead. They were all wrapped up in their projections, their wild fantasies of what is real. Simon became a beast to kill rather than a brother with a good message. Simon is a Christ figure of the story, the one who comes with a message of salvation and redemption, but is crucified before his message could be shared.
