Currently on 2nd read of LOTM. And those so called "boring" 200 chpts will be so nostalgic and peaceful on rereads. Can't express how much I missed them 😭

Some things about LOTM that you might not have heard: LOTM's slow pacing is extremely necessary and has big pay off for it throughout the story especially the later on chapters when there is A LOT of set up The info dump gets a lot of people it either feels overwhelming or they try to remember it all but can't. The key thing tho is that its only done so you don't think later on why certain things weren't brought up earlier and anything relevant to the plot will be brought up again. Also info dump almost entirely stops after chapter 100. After chapter 200 it happens rarely and its easier to understand what's said (since you would have more knowledge of the verse at that time) Also reverend Insanity 100% has a better start than LOTM since LOTM's start was supposed to build up the rest of the series its not nearly as engaging

Yeah, when I finished volume 1 and understood why it was called "Clown", really changed my whole perspective of LotM.

I just love how MUNDANE the low sequence 9 beyonders are. Take the MCs class "Seer". It is a glorified "Flip a coin" class, then think about the horoscope for 10 minutes to MAYBE...turn the response you recieved into something intelligent. Like, if you've ever been to a fortune teller, the author makes it so that their superpowers are the reason for why they have to be so wishy washy and vague. OH and you CAN see spirits BUT NOT ghosts of certain types. There's also some bs ones...Like Monster. It's a potion to activate hardcore mode. Like playing Nosferatu in Masquerade Bloodlines. Another good one is "Sleepless"... Their power is self-explanitory, EXCEPT without the cons. They can operate at a high level for multiple days without sleep AND they need 6 hours of sleep max to regain their "power" when abusing it. While unimpressive, it is VITAL for the artifacts in the story that are SCP level crazy scary. "This artifact will snap your neck if you turn your back to it, but if someone observes it, it remains docile...OH and if nobody observes it, it'll escape ENCLOSED STEEL BOXES without trace, to find a neck to snap." The book IS a slow burn BUT the various scenarious within it conclude within a few pages AND might be relevant in the conclusion of the chapter. It's an immersive sim in book form.

The so called "boring beginning" is actually a lot more important throughout the whole story. You have to remember every detailing since nothing is useless information, like the various secret organisations that are introduced, the sequence pathways, classification of mystical items, potion ingredients, ritual ingredients, ritual incantations, honorific names, etc. which is clearly not everybody's cup of tea. Also, please share your thoughts on the first volume.

@@knocker9391 what I meant that it’s getting good I meant the plot starts picking up. The first 100 chapters are all world building and author was intentionally taking it slow. Lotm is in no means bad at all.
@Celestialfool6 күн бұрын
The author himself said in a side note that he purposely made the first volume slow to build things up. You must have noticed the insanely detailed currency system or the names of different areas or streets or cities. They all are important throughout the entirety of the novel. Literally everything is related to the plot and story and nothing is useless. And it's a different genre from ri. It's not your typical shonen edgy mc story. It's more like monster than jujutsu kaisen. Also, there's no romance of you're wondering.

The world building and characters are memorable, not something you would usually see in "web novels" The 22 pathway sequences are so intriguing anyone reading is unknowingly searching for them. Usually, if you drop infos like that most readers even forget about it. But.... To each their own i guess, i just hope the animation does not f*uck it up. The comics completely botched it!

too complicated just sounds like you weren't paying attention early on missed stuff and things became way too complex which happens to some readers it will also not make the reveals hit as hard. You probably don't enjoy complex world building either since you used it as a con I would also say having a bad attention span could make LOTM boring often ( you don't need a bad intention span to find it boring obv) its just a common reason that people could find it boring Basically i'm saying it sounds like the story ain't for you
