Some beginner tips: Don’t rush the quest unless you need to. It is often best to strive for breaking even (wp = threat), or just quest enough to clear the active location, until you have the situation under control. It is even ok to under quest so your threat goes up if that is what you need to do. A great help here is using Eowyn’s ability in the action window after staging encounter cards but before resolving (i.e. calculating the result of) questing. That way you can wait to see if you have to discard a card to boost her willpower. Never just pitch a card to her before you know what you are up against. So, early game, quest only to tread water so to speak and keep other characters back to deal with enemies. Another interesting wrinkle is that you can use the resource you get from Theodred to immediately trigger Aragorn’s readying ability. No need to save a resource on Aragorn from the planning phase in this case. (Technically, a player’s characters commit to the quest simultaneously, but you chose in which order you resolve any responses to your characters committing.)

I has missed that you could invoke Eowyn's action after the cards were drawn. That's good to know. In my experience the longer I take the more horrible monsters come out that I then can't deal with, so it's interesting you say I don't need to hurry to complete the quest. Perhaps I need to practise building up an advantageous board state before progressing too far. I have been playing games with my Son and we have played Aragorn/Theodred that way, must have forgotten in this game. Thanks for watching, and the advice!

good playthrough ! correct me if I'm wrong but, when you played Snowbourn scout (enters play) ,there was no active location. So you wouldn't add a progress token to the location. if there was already an active location while you played the snowbourn scout , you then indeed would add a progress marker. Anyway thanks for the video !!

Never! I have thoughts about sleeves that don't chime with most of the community! In all seriousness though, sadly, at the moment I am finding so little time to play, sleeving would be a waste of money.
