@@SkillTree with my first grandchild it was flashcards, she was reading in preschool, second one loved coloring and sewing. The eldest is now 14. Youngest is 2 months. I needed to upgrade for older ones and back to basics with younger ones, the back to basics everyone loves. We would all make up a paragraph of a story we build off of each other then we draw, color, craft and sew things we make up in the Story. Added in wood burning/making and glass works asking with alcohol ink and a bit of gardening including medicinal and vegetables and what is POISON. Try some wrist rocket targets (parents won't allow real guns). Air soft and archery next???

That's an impressive first go at this craft. A couple things not about the visuals which are pretty stunning. I wouldn't trust super glue for either the wire wrap or the clasp. Doubly so for the clasp. If you do it again, and intend to use an adhesive I'd recommend something with a stronger bond. Maybe a 2 part epoxy or something similar. Also, scuff up the metal before adhering to it.

Do you have a video on how to make a custom stamp for Leather? I want to make a logo stamp but I am unsure of where to start or how to make one. I heard you mention something about logos in the video.
@SkillTree3 жыл бұрын
I have 3 that will work, depending on the size. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nZfTn5iXbrSrfdk kzbin.info/www/bejne/nqe5i5qKmdJ-ask kzbin.info/www/bejne/i6eaq3eHatRrbNk The wax stamp one could be used for leather for sure.
@demonwolf56713 жыл бұрын
@@SkillTree Thanks. I will check them out.
@demonwolf56713 жыл бұрын
@@SkillTree after viewing the three videos I felt that the wax stamp seal would be the best to use as I can make two different yet simplified versions of my logo so I can still keep the design without it being too overwhelming with details. That would otherwise make the stamp too difficult to make or even have too much that I would end up with a jumbled mess and nothing usable. The two different versions are just inverted versions of each other. This way I can just burn it into the leather or if the brass is solid enough I could gently hammer the logo on. Thoughts?
@SkillTree3 жыл бұрын
@@demonwolf5671 I agree! If you decide to hammer it, maybe fill the tube with something solid or nest a slightly smaller pipe inside to add a bit more rigidity to itn but it should work fine. Or, you could use a clamp to apply the pressure. If you gi for burning it be careful how hot you get it. It can actually burn too much for my liking if I am not careful. Best of luck!
@demonwolf56713 жыл бұрын
@@SkillTree Thanks for the advice. I will experiment with the burning style to get a feel for how hot it needs to be for my liking as well as experiment with different fillings to see what gives me a more desired outcome for when hammering it. I do like the smaller pipe idea as it makes sense to help reinforce the rigidity of the pipe/tube. Also thanks for taking your time out of your day to answer my thoughts and questions. Very few artists I have messaged do this.
