As a occult practitioner I tell you that as much work you put into your magical props they have a part of your spirit in them. Sounds whacky I know but when you work hard and with dedication on an item you empower it now you just need to present them to the elements and ask that they be imbued with their energies. It's really that simple. (Obviously it's a little more in-depth.) Again hopefully that bit of occult knowledge doesn't freak anyone out lol

As a wand maker, I am incredibly impressed with your wand. The resin was a very good idea.

It also would be a cool long term project to make wands for all types of magical damage in DnD. You already have fire and lightning ones

@@SkillTree idk much about DND, but an "acid" damaged wand would be neat, especially if it's got real acid burns (assuming that can be done safely)

Okay that wand is freaking amazing! I've always been more partial to Fel Green, like from World of Warcraft. But that arcane blue is amazing!

Awesome wand. I love the metal accent to tie into the "electric" concept. I got really deep into witchcraft for a while, and it always irked me that the point of a wand is to act as a conduit of your energy (electrical current), but wands are typically made out of insulative materials like wood and plastics (resins). I always thought that a metal, or metal wrapped wand would be far more logical for the job. So I challenge you to revisit the war mage staff and wand projects with metal. I think a wrought-iron (looking) coiled snake addition aesthetic would would be super BA, and a Scandinavian inspired iron aged finger knife wand would be super sick

further idea. Drill a hole into the base and down the length of the shaft. When you're pouring resin, fill it all except the handle. There, put one of the balloon-lights from your potion build and cover it with saran wrap. Then, when it's all cured, it will create a pathway for the light to travel the entire wand. You can strap the balloon light into place in the handle with a small leather strap. On-off at will, and your center piece will absolutely light up, as well as that tip. And still glow with magic at night. To cure the inside, you may either need to completely split it (not ideal I know but if done right would add more "explosion" character), use a different resin for the channels that's clear (probably the best bet so as to not loose light in the color), or figure out how to get UV to penetrate the length (no clue). Really fun build.

Itching to try this, it looks more doable to me than using a lathe, especially since I don't own a lathe. Or a bandsaw, but I do have a jigsaw and belt sander! It's nice to see someone making the things I would like to make, using tools I have.

I made a little wand when I got into Harry Potter that I later burned it using my Zippo the lore behind it is that I carved it as a training wand to help me learn magic but now it's burned out you could use it to cast spells but would most likely blow up and is put on display for the memory and my days as a novice mage.

Beautiful work, as always. The fracture and repair is a great idea, however, the break looks noticeably artificial. Instead of using a saw to make the pre-cuts, maybe try using a knife. The shorter cutting contact patch will have you reposition more often and cause a more jagged line while still giving the clean fracture you want.
