The song Aragorn sings has huge importance! Here is the full version: “The leaves were long, the grass was green, The hemlock-umbels tall and fair, And in the glade a light was seen; Of stars in shadow shimmering, Tinnúviel was dancing there, To music of a pipe unseen And light of stars was in her hair; And in her raiment glimmering There Beren came from mountains cold; And lost he wandered under leaves; And where the Elven-river rolled. He walked alone and sorrowing. He peered between the hemlock-leaves; And saw in wonder flowers of gold Upon her mantle and her sleeves; And her hair like shadow following Enchantment healed his weary feet; That over hills were doomed to roam And forth he hastened, strong and fleet; And grasped at moonbeams glistening Through woven woods in Elven-home; She lightly fled on dancing feet And left him lonely still to roam; In the silent forest listening; He heard there oft the flying sound Of feet as light as linden-leaves Or music welling underground; In hidden hollow quavering; Now withered lay the hemlock-sheaves And one by one with sighing sound Whispering fell the beachen leaves; In the wintry woodland wavering He sought her ever, wandering far Where leaves of years were thickly strewn By light of moon and ray of star; In frosty heavens shivering Her mantle glinted in the moon; As on a hill-top high and far She danced, and at her feet was strewn A mist of silver quivering When winter passed, she came again And her song released the sudden spring, Like rising lark, and falling rain; And melting water bubbling; He saw the elven-flowers spring About her feet, and healed again He longed by her to dance and sing Upon the grass untroubling Again she fled, but swift he came Tinnúviel ! , Tinnúviel ! He called her by her elvish name And there she halted listening One moment stood she, and a spell His voice laid on her: Beren came And doom fell on Tinúviel That in his arms lay glistening As Beren looked into her eyes Within the shadows of her hair The trembling starlight of the skies He saw there mirrored shimmering Tinnúviel the elven-fair Immortal maiden elven-wise About him cast her shadowy hair And arms like silver glimmering Long was the way that fate them bore O'er stony mountains cold and grey Through halls of ireon and darkling door, And woods of nightshade morrowless The Sundering Seas between them lay And yet at last they met once more And long ago they passed away In the forest singing sorrowless” The true elvish version is far greater and so full of beauty & nuanced mournful sadness that’s break the hearts of mortals from its beauty and sadness so the true song has been sort of taboo and the mannish tongues that retell it is stated to only be a shadow beneath the tree of the true story! (A clip of it is in the original definitive version though. Viggo Mortenson who plays Aragorn designed the melody and style himself and wished it to sound Celtic in nature.) I recommend reacting to the cover done by Clamavi De Profundis and Tolkien Ensemble after the trilogy is finished and even “How Howard Shore Used Voices”. You’ll see just how deep it went. The lore itself went into the musics lyrics. Using the languages within middle earth. So even when stuff couldn’t be put in they found other ways to highly reference it via the music. It ties in all the themes at the very end in a very profound way. The thumbnail image for it is Galadriel and the image has a blue tint.

“Is it secret, is it safe?” Gandalf was gone for 17 years doing loads of research and travelling hundreds of miles all over middle earth to find much needed info and protected lore of isildur and these events. Often gleaned from certain clans of elves

16:46 When an elf and a human fall in love, the elf is basically doomed to die when their human partner dies, likely out of grief. But these unions are extremely rare, only happening like 3 or 4 times in all of the world's history. But for the half elven children born of such a union (Elrond, for example), they are given the choice whether to have the lifespan of a mortal, or the immortality of an elf, and to be bound to the unltimate fate of either kind. It all comes down to the afterlife basically. It might seem like a no brainer to pick immortality, but that also means that they will exist forever until the world ends, and they will have long since grown weary of the world before that happens. . Even if they die in battle or something, they will eventually be reborn and come back to life, but they will be tired of living after millions and billions of years go by. Whereas humans live briefly and then leave the world, rather than being bound to it. The implication is that humans get to go to heaven and be with Eru Illuvatar (basically "God" with a capital G), but Elves have to stay alive until the end of the world, and they will grow to envy humans.

Explaining the immortality of the elves in Tolkien's universe: Elves are immortal and are not weakened by illness, disease, and ailments that afflict the race of men. They can only go to "heaven" called Valinor, by either sailing there in the ships of the Grey Havens or by death by the blade. The reason Arwen can give up her immortality is because she, like her father Lord Elrond (and her twin brothers who aren't in the movies) are half elven and half men. Elrond had a twin brother named Elros, and when they were given the choice to live among men or the elves, Elros chose the men side of his blood, giving up his immortality and Elrond chose to be an elf. The Evenstar amulet that Arwen gives Aragorn is just a token of her love and devotion. It's just symbolism. The movie puts too much into it.

Legit, as you're calling out the class levels these characters probably have, that's how the game designers who made those classes designed them. Ain't no way the dungeons and dragons ranger class isn't just Aragorn.

The black horses and Nazgûl are armoured, and can’t jump into water or they’ll sink and drown. The Nazgûl did not want to risk their mounts at the Brandywine river, but were willing to take the chance to wade across to Arwen and Frodo. They underestimated the elven magic. ❤

It’s an old superstition in Northern European mythology that evil spirits could not cross running water. Tolkien uses this idea several times in his books.

@@user-un2eq5jl8i Yes I did know. Thank you. I have read and studied both Tolkien and European history. Didn’t include it due to the movie themes not really going into it. Thank you for the inclusion. However, the “Do some research if you doubt me.”, comment is a little over the top. To put it in RPG perspective, for all intents and purposes Frodo's class is Ringbearer. His one job is to carry the ring and not succumb to it. He's not a great fighter, he's no mage or priest or even particularly useful. His entire class is tuned to carrying the sentient hunk of seductive indestructable gold / mental cocaine and not listen to it. Frodo is... sorta like a tank, but he's tanking his own gear. He needs to keep going, without getting killed or falling under its influence. A really, really crappy class, really, and yet if you are trying for a challenge run in a souls-like or to really get your party to hate you in an MMO, a potentially interesting one.
