The beginning of this movie is the GOAT of movies intros. I will die on this hill. Nothing since has come even close. As always, Thank you Paul, MT and the editors for your hard work. Cheers.
@stanco4everАй бұрын
Yeah. It's still awesome but sadly not as good on the small screen. Still remember seeing it in theatres, and when it zooms out to the wide shot of them falling - nothing has come close to the awe I had at that moment. Same with the warg battle - the intensity of the horses hoofs and the crash as they charge into another was just a fantastic movie theatre experience

This channel is amazing, it relentlessly appears in my feed with top tier stuff. I particularly love the way I'm subtly told to smash that like button every time. It makes me want to hit that like button. Not because it's about working the algorithm to hit that like button but it's because it seems important to hit that like button. So I chose to tap the like button.

Yeah, the problem with the Elves at Helm's Deep is: the Elves had already fought multiple hugely destructive wars against the original Dark Lord, to say nothing of the rise of Sauron. They were tired, they were traumatized, and they were few. The Last Alliance was named because that was all the power the Elves had left--there was never going to be enough Elvish force in Middle Earth again to fight a war. Their last high-king was killed, and only the preservation wrought by the three rings enabled a handful of Elves to persist. They did enough!

Such an amazing moment when Samwise realizes he's continuing in the story of the Silmarils. His whole life he is enamored with all things Elves and their stories and poems and songs and lands, and now he is in the story, and he also knows he is likely to not ever get back to the Shire (although he's hopeful!) ... but he doesn't turn back and presses on because there's a job to do. 27:23 actually it is related to Scandinavian lexicon. When referring to a niece or a nephew, there are different words if it is the child of your sister or the child of your brother. As a linguist, who based much of his created languages in Finnish, Tolkien would’ve known that and put it in his work.
