I'd forgotten that he spent years with Wests at the end of his career. I always associated hi with St George.

Terrific footage of a long gone and golden era. Lord Ted in all his glory, eiyhmany notable contemporary player's in the clip. When League was a game, not a "product " that today's game is,the size and pace of the modern players notwithstanding. Thanks for the great upload 😁👍

Electrifying. Was the best in the 1977 competition.

One of the best. Used to love his chip and chase.

Loved this but really disappointed not to see his 1977 GF try. I believe it’s the most underrated try in grand final history. His collision with Ian Schubert in the 75 GF would also be worth a look.

Lord Ted was legendary. That try in the 77 GF was typical of his brilliance. An exciting player to watch on his day.

I don't think they showed that one, the kick and chase.

Lord Ted, they just don't have players with such character today, I totally forgot he played for Wests - Schubert too. Great upload.

@@eagleeric2598 Indeed, just looked him up on the Wikipedia, stayed involved in the game for years afterwards, seems like a great bloke, now 71!

@@eagleeric2598 Yep Teddy played with Newtown in 1979 season . John Ribot joined the Jets in 1978 . At the end of the 1979 season they both went to Wests .

I always remember Lord Ted playing for Wests in 1982 breaking his arm in a Tooth’s Cup game. Not sure if that was one of last ever games playing in Sydney?

Pretty sure Lord Ted was playing for “match payments” when he first signed on with the Magpies - a great footballer
