When I 1st saw Lord Zedd's design; it was shocking at 1st - just how much work & effort went into it, & the fact they got away with such a ghoulish design in what was touted as a kid's show But it was also perfectly fitting - the look of a Villain, & such iconic one at that How ironic; that one of the Power Rangers much vile & unwholesome villains, had such a wholesome ending - which was also just as shocking

Indeed. By the time we're introduced to Zedd, Rita is little more than a weekly annoyance for the Rangers. When you see Rita is legit terrified of Zedd, you know business is about to pick up. Zedd also had a better approach than Rita. Instead of trying to fight them head on, divide and conquer. He did ultimately do what Rita could not and dispatched the Green Ranger though by that point, the Rangers had the Thunder Zords. I did think Zedd would have been the one to if not beat the Rangers outright but keep them on their heels. More so after he made short work of the Dino Zords. He was purified at the end of In Space and that marked the end of his story. It was interesting to later find out his staff still existed somewhere. Even more interesting was his getting cloned. I feel like at this point they should just outright bring back the "Old" Zedd personally.

LORD Zedd and Rita were my favorite villaines in all of the Power Rangers franchise 'cause they were so unique and iconic in my oppinion. And I'm really happy that now in in Dino &. Cosmic Fury Lord Zedd is back again. I'm really excited about his debut in the 30.th Annivercery TV show of PR Cosmic Fury and I can't wait to see what he is going to do to claim his full revenge on the PR. Hope so for a new face off between Zordon and Lord Zedd.

This x1000. The comics do what the TV shows can't: A Deep dive into the prehistory and lore. I only saw bits and pieces of RPM but it was quite a surprise to later find out Rita and Zedd had a child at some point after the beginning of Zeo and more so after their purification at the end of In Space. I feel like Thrax didn't need that given the passage of time to that point alone. That and like I mentioned, Rita and Zedd were purified at the end of In Space. To that point, there was no mention of them having kids together. We know they led the conquest of a distant world toward the end of In Space but were purified before they could achieve a complete victory. By the time RPM happens, so much time has passed you probably forgot Zedd and Rita. Then you find out Thrax is a secret son of theirs who was in stasis for a long time. Yeah, no. Would've made sense if Rita and Zedd were brought back and turned evil again though.

Yeah, I read somewhere the network was getting complaints from (wait for it) soccer moms and Evangelicals about Zedd's appearance for quite a while. Bringing back Rita and changing Zedd's personality was their compromise. I heard a rumor they were originally planning to have Zedd kill Tommy with magic in front of the other Rangers but only had him lose his Green Ranger powers because they were worried about the blowback.

I believe the real overarching & scary villain of the power rangers franchise was Dark Specter instead of Lord Zedd. Because Dark Specter ruled over the entire United Alliance of Evil that Zedd & Rita, Master Vile, Divatox the Machine Empire Astronema & possibly Scorpius & Trakeena was all a part of. & Dark Specter was the corrupting influence behind all the members of the UNE too.

He retreated when the Machine Empire showed up but came back at the end of Zeo to finish them off after they were severely weakened. It's now believed the real reason they retreated was because Rita was pregnant with Thrax and Zedd knew the Machine Empire wouldn't show mercy if they were caught. Zedd and Rita are absent for prettymuch all of Zeo and Turbo when they were likely raising their son. At some point during In Space they secretly seal Thrax away and this is why he's spared when Zordon's sacrifice purifies his parents. When he awakens, Thrax finds out what became of his parents and seeks to continue the work they started.
